We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Madison, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a husband and wife team, this business has allowed us to be creative together! Preston and I have been together for over 14 years now. We became a couple at just 13 years old (in middle school) when we were cast as “Belle” and “The Beast” in our school’s production of Beauty & the Beast (hence, Tale as Old as Time Media!) Ever since our awkward, middle school, on-stage kiss, we have been inseparable, and I have been filming our relationship the whole time! Growing up, you would never find me without a camera in my hand- filming everything to make sure I had all my memories captured. I have always had a passion for making videos of my life to look back on. Every family vacation had an edited video to go along with it. I started with a tiny flip camera, editing with a free movie making software on my mom’s desktop! Oh how far we have come! Once Preston and I became a couple, he got roped into it all. He was the main character in the majority of my videos from then on out. After getting married in 2018, I got all of the raw footage (from my own wedding video), started editing it together, and discovered how incredible it is to look back on the BEST day of my life in a cinematic way. After seeing how much I loved editing together my own wedding footage, Preston encouraged me to offer to film and edit for others. This business fills my heart and is such a passion of mine, and Preston has always encouraged me to pursue my dreams of capturing love. Preston is so smart, very technical, and has been running audio at our church for years. He is the brains behind everything- all the equipment, sound, etc, while I usually am the creative side- knowing what shots I want and editing together all of our films. Doing this business with him has been such an exciting adventure for us! We have two boys, a 3 year old and a 1 year old, and Tale as Old as Time Media has allowed me to be more present with them, while also pursing my dreams. I am forever grateful for every couple who has trusted us to capture their day, and for all the couples who continue to choose us for their upcoming weddings!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a wedding videographer, I truly love getting to know my brides and grooms. I love to learn about their personal love story. what is most important to them, and how they want to remember their day. I know just how important it is to have your best day ever captured in a way that makes you proud and excited to look back on. To this day, over 5 years later, I cherish my own wedding video and all of the footage from that day so much. Now that we have two kids, it has been amazing to be able to show them our wedding video, so they can see how much mommy and daddy love each other, and how wonderful that day was. I like to think about my client’s future children watching their wedding videos while I edit. I understand how important it is to have those memories captured forever- and how moving pictures and sound encapsulate all of the feelings and just bring you right back to those moments. We started our buisness in 2020, which as you know was a very difficult year for weddings. On top of that, I was 6 months pregnant! Nevertheless, we pushed through and I never gave up on our dream. And it has been an amazing 4 years!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lighthouse Creative Photography. My best friend, Rachel Lumbreras, is an incredible photographer. She has photographed so many weddings, and always recommends me to her brides as a videographer. We absolutely love working together and capturing love together! I couldn’t have made this dream come true without her support and encouragement.
