Hi Madiha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My name is Madiha, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to share the story behind Pearlz, my beloved boba catering business that’s all about crafting moments of pure joy.
You see, I’ve always had a thing for fun drinks. Whether it’s mocktails, coffee, or the one that truly steals my heart – boba, I’ve been experimenting with crafting new beverages for myself, family, and friends for years. There’s nothing quite like witnessing those beaming smiles as they take that first sip, knowing that I’ve created something special.

Boba is more than just a drink to me; it’s a passion that’s woven into the very fabric of who I am (my last name is Bobat – or “Boba-T” – so fitting, right?)

My love for boba and the endless possibilities it offers led me to explore countless boba shops and try every drink imaginable. Trying the different drinks and critiquing them was always so fun for me.

As a stay-at-home mom of a toddler, I’ve always dreamed of starting my own small business – something that would let me be my own boss, unleash my creativity, and most importantly, bring happiness to others. The party/event industry had always intrigued me, and last summer, during an all-night brainstorming session with my sister-in-law, Zakiyya, the magic happened. She suggested starting a boba station – a brilliant idea that combined my love for boba with my desire to be a part of people’s special celebrations, big or small. And that’s how Pearlz was born!

Pearlz isn’t just any boba catering company; it’s a dream come true for me. I pour my heart and soul into every cup I serve, constantly exploring new flavors, blends, and toppings to make each experience extraordinary. It’s not just about serving drinks; it’s about creating memories that people will cherish for a lifetime.

But Pearlz isn’t just about beverages; it’s about building connections and being a part of the community. As we bring our self-serve boba bar, boba catering, and our incredibly popular full-service live boba station to events, we aim to create unforgettable experiences for our clients. Customization is key, and we take pride in tailoring our services to suit the unique celebrations and tastes of every individual.

With the unwavering support of my sister-in-law, my husband, and our entire family, we embarked on this venture with determination, despite having no prior experience in running a business. Late nights were spent crafting meticulous business plans, securing funds, sourcing suppliers and ingredients, and building our very own boba cart – a labor of love that involved the contributions of family and friends.

What sets our brand apart is our genuine passion for boba, drinks, and creating cherished memories for our customers. We don’t just serve boba; we pour our hearts into every cup, striving to provide not only the best drinks but also an unmatched service experience. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Even though I’m not originally from Dallas Fort Worth, I’ve called this amazing city my home for the past two years. During my time here, I’ve discovered some incredible places that have become dear to my heart. Some of my go-to spots in Dallas include the Katy Trail, Adriactica Village, Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, and the Stockyards.
When it comes to satisfying my taste buds, I have a few favorite places. For a delightful breakfast, I head to Honeyberry Cafe, and for a mouthwatering lunch, nothing beats Ricky’s Hot Chicken, a true Dallas favorite. When dinner time rolls around, you can find us at Wavebowl.

As the night sets in, I love treating myself to a dessert. While I’m a huge fan of boba, there’s something about going out for ice cream that I simply adore. Two of my absolute favorite dessert spots are Somi Somi and Melt Ice Cream.

Living in Dallas Fort Worth has been an incredible adventure, and I can’t wait to discover more of the city’s hidden gems and mouthwatering delights in the years to come!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Pearlz owes its existence to the unwavering support and contributions of some incredible individuals.

First and foremost, my heartfelt gratitude goes to my husband, family, and friends for being my constant pillars of encouragement and belief in my dreams.

However, I must shine a special spotlight on someone who played a pivotal role in bringing Pearlz to life – my sister-in-law, Zakiyya. Last summer, during an all-night brainstorming session with her, the magic unfolded. It was Zakiyya who came up with the brilliant idea of starting a boba station, seamlessly blending my passion for boba with my desire to be a part of people’s cherished celebrations, no matter how big or small.

Prior to this revelation, I had always yearned to start my own business, but I was unsure of what to pursue and how to get started. It’s incredible how a simple conversation can transform lives, and in this case, give birth to a business that fills my heart with joy. Zakiyya’s insight and enthusiasm brought Pearlz to life and I will forever be grateful for her role in this beautiful journey.

Pearlz is not just my creation; it’s a shared success story fueled by the love, support, and brilliance of those who believed in me.
