Meet Machandria Peters | Cerebral Palsy Warrior & Disability Advocate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Machandria Peters and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Machandria, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Give your unique voice volume” I love this quote because it encourages others to use their voice. When you give your voice volume, it allows you to connect with others through shared or relatable experiences.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
By day, I work in the insurance industry. What sets me apart from others is how I interact with customers to deliver a peace of mind every day. It has not been easy to get where I am today but , I pushed myself to work through setbacks by setting obtainable goals and consistently working towards becoming more knowledgeable in my field. I want the world to know that I have gotten where I am to day because of hard work and dedication.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Pre pandemic, you could find me at Grand Lux Cafe almost every week. One of my best friends and I also became cooked sushi connoisseurs; we would dine at different sushi restaurants throughout the metroplex for dinner. Blue Sushi Sake Grill was a front runner on the list. Legacy West in Plano TX, is awesome; my favorite place to eat there was Roots Chicken Shak. If you’re in the Deep Ellum/Bishop Arts District area there is always something to do. I would say that if you’re in search of activities, you can’t go wrong by downloading Eventbrite to see what may be going on in the area that you’ll be in.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God, my family, friends, and my speaker coach Kristen Guillory, they all deserve recognition for the pushes, the support, the prayers, and the encouragement they continuously provide.
