We had the good fortune of connecting with Lotario (Rio) Wilkerson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lotario (Rio), what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be remembered as a man who was positive throughout any circumstance , a man who loved and followed God , a patient man who loved his family and friends.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I want Lotariography to be known as a Family friendly professional business; bringing nostalgia and joy to someones home and photo galleries. Remember those old days where your grandma and distant cousins had those baby photo albums , family reunion photos, etc. Thats what Lotariography is striving for , to capture an individual(s) personality and emotions in that state and time. Creating the business was easy but the journey has been a little tough; you have to manage your finances, get new equipment , go and get clients, improve your art, set prices , there is a very long list. It’s been tough but I set a goal of where I want to be ; confidence, passion , and drive is key. You learn to have a lot of patience and how important consistency is because I am working with clients on a personal level. Working with clients elevates not only my business but my everyday life because everyone is different and I learn from each experience. Overall this journey is great and i am quickly approaching the next level.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a church boy so of course we going to Full Gospel Holy Temple for a service or 3 to praise God . Food is a no brainer and I eat all types but there is a new restaurant called smithy in Dallas that is a 10/10 ; as well as my wife’s food at the Wilkerson Estate. Of course I’m active so we going out with friends to a park, a food spot, etc , either way if they are with me we are having a good time .

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I thank God for even giving me this gift to make people happy and bring joy to peoples life through pictures and videos. I appreciate my mentor Kelvin Oliver who taught me all the basics I needed to know , taking his personal time to teach me everything and gave me the confidence and drive to keep going saying ” You know since I taught you we are going to be each others competition”. I cannot write this without thanking my wonderful wife Trinity who has been there from the humble beginnings to now and the future when we are creating merchandise, creating our own magazine ( PLACID magazine), just throughout everything she has stood by my side in this journey. Of course I want to shoutout my family and friends who are always there in support as well.
