Meet Loren Davis | Custom Art In Baking/Laser Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Loren Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Loren, what do you attribute your success to?
I seem to come across this question alot lol, but the end goal for each and every order is to stay true and aesthetic to myself. I have a disciplined eye for unique things. I want every piece of acrylic and cake I handmake to be customized. Dare to be different is key to me. I never want to be placed inside a box because my mind isnt lol. From texture, abstract and anything the naked eye cant see, those are the escape routes from reality i love to place in my cakes to create artwork.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When i give consultations, i make it clear, im not everyones baker. If you want something different and uniquely made then you have the right person. Like Ursula Leguin stated, “The creative adult is the child who survived”. My creative mind cant be duplicated or copied. You have to have an opened mind to accept my creativity and drive. I put alot of passion and emotion into my artwork, and thats what i love about my business, that everything is something new that is not seen very often or ever, and the end result they are super pleased and love the final result. i want people to know its okay to stand out and be different. My business has its own unique way of speaking for itself
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Im all about showing off the highlights of the city, not necessarily going with the trends or the most common places to go.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The push, drive, determination, long talks, prayers and a constant reminder of what woman I am today goes to my Grandparents. There are definitely times when I dont think I’ll see the end of the tunnel, the light when you are a one woman show trying to accomplish every dream you have ever thought of, but with both of my Grandparents, it was them that pushed me forward to JUST DO IT, stop looking BACK, take the risks, chance and JUST DO IT. I stay true to those words every day raising two girls of my own that anything worth having takes hard work and patience.
