We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizeth Cuyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lizeth, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
As one of the Hosts of Modern Day Mujeres Podcast, one thing outsiders are unaware of is sometimes the pressure we feel to make sure our content is relatable and putting our personal lives out there for people to hear. We may not always bring popular opinions but we will always be true to ourselves.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe our name tells you everything you might expect, Modern Day Mujeres. We are the modern day women sharing our journey and life’s experiences which brings you a sense of relatability to us. We definitely have hit hurdles because everything is self taught and everything from marketing and production is done by us. I think we overcame these challenges by relying on each other to keep going and stay consistent for your audience and yourselves. We have had some amazing guests as well and I believe that does set us apart the most. Our guest come from all walks of life so we pride ourselves in being inclusive, diverse and welcoming to everyone.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely for breakfast or brunch we should visit San Martin Bakery & Restaurant. For a fun interactive time there’s the Museum of Illusion. Then head to dinner at Vidorra for food and fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely, dedicating this shoutout to the other half of the podcast Melanie Rodriguez. She had the idea of starting this podcast with the hopes to share our stories as Latina women in the hopes to encourage and inspire.
