We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsay Eidahl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsay, what is the most important factor behind your success?
1. Welcome failure because it is the best learning tool you will ever have. 2. Always be open to learning.
3. Be consistent.
4. Always show up and never quit when it gets hard.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is teaching others how to have the home of their dreams without breaking the bank. I do this by sharing DIY projects, smart shopping techniques, and easy decorating tips. Now, I am also coaching other DIYers and furniture flippers to create their own business around their hobby and talent.
Business IS NOT EASY! I started My Creative Days as a way to share what we were doing in our own homes with family and friends. Then, my content started getting recognized outside family and friends. Then, I found out that I could make an income doing what I was doing and it just snowballed from there.
I was hooked. I found out quickly that it is very true when they say if you love what you do, you will never feel like you are working. I immersed myself in learning everything and anything I could about this blogging/business world. I worked around my other full-time job. Nights and weekends are when this was built. I would ask a lot of questions. I found mentors. I took classes. I joined groups. I worked and worked and learned and learned. I am still learning today. I love that about my job. It is always evolving.
I want to help as many people as I can now. I know how long it took me to get here and I don’t want other people to waste the time that I did. So, I have created a course and a private community to coach other DIYers to turn their passion into income!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, if you know me, you know I am always up for a good shopping trip and that always includes thrifting. It is so much fun. I actually have a lot of my followers asking me if I could take them to all my favorite honey holes if they visited my area. I would map out the best thrifting/antique stores and shops and spend the week visiting those areas.
I am not a coffee drinker but I LOVE cute coffee shops. We would start the morning off there and then head out on our treasure hunting adventure.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
