Meet Lindsay Crosby | Installation Coordinator & Part time Brazilian Jiujitsu instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsay Crosby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsay, what principle do you value most?
I believe that one should always stand by their word. I am a huge proponent of someone stating that they are going to do something and that they follow through with it with actions. It builds trust, it builds confidence and that really goes a long way both to the whom they told and to themselves.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I currently work for a construction company as an Installation Coordinator which is essentially dispatching jobs and installers on where they should be going and when. This is a newer role for me so I am excited for the challenge but I do wear a few different hats. I also teach Brazilian Jiujitsu as an assistant coach, it’s been rewarding just in the sense that I get to help coach kids on learning this Martial Art and give back but that I also get to further my understanding of concepts as well. I never thought that I would be a “teacher” in this way but I enjoy thus far. I also dog sit fur babies as well and that’s nice in that I get to keep the dogs under my care since I’m too busy to have a dog.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a big coffee drinker, I would certainly take them to the coffee spots that I know! A few of my favorite coffee places are Black Rifle Coffee Company, Summer Moon, and Sweetwaters. Even if they didn’t drink coffee there are always tea’s to drink or some specialty drink along with pastries or food. Ultimately, every friend that may visit is different; it’s really what they like at the end of the day! I have a friend who LOVES seafood so I make it a point to find some really good seafood any time she visits or if it comes across my feed, I’ll save it for her. So I’ll always include places that they will like but I’ll also pick places that are native to Texas. For sure going to be Whataburger, I’ll make the drive to the nearest Buc-ee’s, possibly go biking near White Rock Lake or drive around the city just to show them some of the places that I frequent. There’s always some sort of physical activity planned so whether that’s having them come try a BJJ class, going to the gym or just walking outside and getting some Texas sun that’s a great day involved.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Aw man, I have so many groups and niches of people who have cultivated who I am today. One of the biggest have been my friends and family. Through them I have grown to be the person I am today through the guidance and wisdom of their own personal experiences. It’s only made me a better person. My journey throughout the lifting community both in Bodybuilding and Powerlifting, I have learn so much about myself in terms of what I’m capable of and pushing myself beyond my own self limiting beliefs. I owe alot of my current self discipline to those times of show prep. The acting community has given me some of the most positive and loving friends that I could’ve asked for. Too many people but the Extra Milers and my time spent in that school, led by Glenn Morshower, will forever be the most memorable. I think lastly would be the Brazilian Jiujitsu community. The school that I am currently attending, Corvo Martial Arts, is pretty much my second family. When I’m not at home I’m there, learning different techniques that make me a better competitor but also sharing the mats with incredible people and learning their stories is not something I thought would happen when I signed up almost 3 years ago. It’s been an amazing experience overall.
