Meet Liar Liar | Emo alt-rock band

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liar Liar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Liar Liar, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
A lesson we were taught as a band is that life is too short to not take chances. There are so many opportunities out there that allow for us to not only grow as a band, but as individuals. By connecting with others and finding a community, we learn how to work together and push our band toward success.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We started out as a group of introverted underdogs who never imagined we would get this far. Our passion lies in nostalgia, reviving 2000’s emo hits to life, with a mix of 90’s and 80’s in our set. One of our proudest moments as a band was playing at the world famous Whisky a Go Go, alongside that a mini tour in L.A.
Getting where we are now was not easy. We have faced our fair share of high ups, low downs, and differences. Despite all of that, we have grown stronger as a band and as friends. Rockstars of Tomorrow has given us opportunities that many bands do not get, and we are beyond grateful for their support.
Creating original music has been a huge defining part of our path. We can truly evolve as a band when we come together to create music. We are extremely excited for the release of our new original, which will be released this year.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a band, playing in different areas around Dallas has opened our eyes to so many cool spots we never fully appreciated before. Some of our favorite venues to play include The Revel and Fat Daddy’s—they always make for an amazing time. But we’re not just about performing; we love experiencing live music too. Some venues we like to go to experience live music are the House of Blues, Globe Life Field, The Bomb Factory, and Dos Equis.
If our best friends were visiting for a week, we’d definitely take them to some of our go-to places. McKinney Square is a great spot we love to hang out, with its historic charm, unique shops, and great restaurants. We always love to check out records at Red Zeppelin Records, and stop by at different restaurants for something to eat.
Whether we’re playing shows, catching concerts, or just finding the best late-night food, there’s always something fun happening in and around Dallas and its surrounding areas.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to start off by giving a huge shoutout to our close Rockstars of Tomorrow friends, Sean Besefki and The Mires, who have been performing with us since the beginning and have shown us nothing but support. We’d also like to recognize Beach Vein, a ‘90s alt-rock-inspired band based in San Antonio, Texas.
Additionally, we want to highlight the incredible bands that have helped us shine and given us a chance: The Kid Brothers, Empiires, and Demi the Daredevil.
We would all like to thank Vanessa Cantù (Rockstars of Tomorrow owner), Chloe Clemente (band coach and rising solo artist), Brandon Burkhalter (tech-death drummer and Rockstars of Tomorrow instructor), and Kirk Lunsford (Rockstars of Tomorrow instructor).
Everyone we have included in our shoutouts are people and bands who have helped us get where we are today. We are beyond grateful for their support.
