We had the good fortune of connecting with Lee “Aminna” Buchanan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lee “Aminna”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
What was your thought process behind starting your own business? My thought process behind starting my own business was monetizing something that I enjoy and am very knowledgeable in.
Being a real estate agent is very satisfying.
Seeing the look on my client’s face when they sign their closing documents and receive the keys to their new home is priceless.
I really feel like I am making a difference when I connect my clients with one of my network loan officers who in return make the financing portion of the transaction smooth and seamless.
A little backstory on how my own real estate business came about: I have been a mortgage loan closer for 19 years, I have closed numerous loans from across the U.S. During my time as a closer I noticed the commission amounts that the agents earned and witnessed many closing stories good and bad and as a result the experience peeked my interest in becoming an agent.
Additionally, my real estate business will afford me the opportunity to provide generational wealth from my children and family.
My mother tells me all that time that I treat my clients like they are family!
I pride myself on providing the best experience to my clients so that they have a good memory of purchasing a home and of course so that they send me a referral!
One of my favorite real estate quotes is; “Don’t wait to buy real estate, buy real estate and wait.”
Afterall, its not a loan it’s a home.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from other real estate agents is not only am I very passionate about assisting my clients, but I am also very knowledgeable in the industry will allows me to give my clients extra “gems” along the process. I am most proud of the constant referrals I receive from current and past clients. Referrals are the bread and butter! Professionally, I got to where I am now by having drive and hustling for business and staying in the know about the forever changing real estate business! I overcome challenges by constantly thinking of ways to set myself apart from the other agents. I offer advice and give suggestions and people like to know or feel like they are in good hands, especially with making a big decision like purchasing a home and or selling a home. A good lesson that I have learned along the way is to have patience. No 2 clients are alike. I listen to my clients and their needs and this also comes in handy when selecting homes and when its closing day and I am shopping for the perfect gift for their new home! I want the world to know that I love being a real estate agent and I am very good at what I do! I am a mom of 2 wonderful children and to not be afraid to reach out! You are in good hands with me and I am there to hold your hand every step of the process. I have an open door and I let me clients know they can reach out anytime be it, phone, text, email and or social media.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My aunt Rose, I just lost her on Oct 13, 2021 and she and I were very close. She was my cheerleader, my voice of reason, my mentor, my role model, my tech guru and the reason why I decided to step out on faith and become a real estate agent. We had a lot of plans and goals to accomplish to take my real estate business to the next level and I plan on executing and accomplishing them all. Rest well Rose, I will forever love you.
