We had the good fortune of connecting with Latice Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latice, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
The most difficult decision I had to make wow. In October of 2020 I was presented with a once in a lifetime opportunity. I was chosen to be on Great Chocolate Showdown and would gone at least 7 1/2 weeks to film. I was working told my general manager and she basically told me she couldn’t hold my position for that long, so I had to make a decision to go after my dream or stay for my steady stable paycheck. As a single mom I was going to stay however after some prayer I felt God was telling me to go.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When it comes to decorating cake. Most people look at a cake and like call it simple. When I look at a cake I’m looking at the icing and its consistency. Thinking about the piping tip that was used. The fondant cutter, the type of gel food coloring. Like it’s so much that goes into decorating a cake. I want my cakes to look good and taste better. So I don’t cut corners on ingredients. I will forever stand on that..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friends are seafood lovers just like me so our first stop will be shell shack or red claw. They have the best seafood boils. Every girl loves a good shopping experience so we’re stopping at Galleria mall. At our age we’re not really into hanging out at night lol. However a good rooftop restaurant or lounge in downtown Dallas is never a no. We will top it off by stopping at One Community church. Can’t let them leave without a good worship experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My daughter is/has always been my motivation to do and want better in life. I honestly believe she was sent in to save me from my own destruction. I always say “we grew up together”. I thank God for sending her my way. Zoria Williams (my favorite daughter lol) this goes out to you.
