We had the good fortune of connecting with LaShundra Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaShundra, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.

My end goal is to obtain my own building and create a full spa experience that allows women to feel safe and comfortable in their own skin. The spa would continue to offer innovative handcrafted products and education. As well as offer a work environment that uplifts and encourages everyone – customers and my team to leave better than they came.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?\
Bbetter came from a pain point I felt within myself. After multiple losses I was in a really dark place and feeling like it was time to focus on my purpose. This led me through a journey of self discovery creating a community of women and a desire to use my creative gifts to influence.

From there I self taught how to formulate products from scratch i.e. skincare, soaps, candles, and more. I then realized I missed human contact and I needed to scale my business and offer services. Thus body contouring came in to play and coincided with my sixteen years plus in nursing. In 6 months I went from making products to signing a lease on my new space and making $3000 in my first 14 days.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Dallas has so much to offer. I would take them downtown to tour sites and hit several brunch spots along the way. Dinner at Perrys and a night at 3-11 for live music and drinks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

My family is the driving force behind my determination. My husband is one of the most supportive people I know encouraging me daily that there is nothing I can’t do with God on my side.
