We had the good fortune of connecting with Lamonica Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lamonica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To create a ethical margin of business that has began to dwindle in 2022. I wanted to create something that celebrates and caters wholeheartedly to the beauty of naturally textured hair.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a textured hair specialist specializing in naturally textured hair and what I pride myself on is not only just knowing the basics of textured hair coloring, cutting and basic styling I also offee extensions, tape-ins, iTips, vivid hair color, blonding, sisterlocks Tru Electric Locs I mean the list goes on. I’m always training, taking classes on ways to better my craft, expand my portfolio that way when I’m on set or I’m doing a photo shoot there’s nothing that I don’t know how to do and just being a better stylist for my clients and future clients.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite places in the city to go and hang out are the Dallas or Frisco’s Farmers Market, The Dallas Art Museum or handing out in Deep Deep Ellum.
Favorite place for drinks is either Midnight Rambler or The Tipsy Alchemist and my favorite places to eat are Monkey noodle king, Urban Crust for the best pizza and views and Urban Seafood Company for the best seafood.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Johnithan, my 5 kids, team natural, my clients
