Meet Lady Tea | Kids’s hairstylist & Hairloss Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lady Tea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lady, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important to me is consistency. People should be able to set their watch by your hours of operation, the day and times your available. Anything other than that sets your business up for failure.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business caterers to those most rejected in the hair industry. My clients start at age 3. I have the patience and gentleness to style children. From beginning to end they receive the salon experience that adults do. They are offered drinks, snacks, an iPad to play games or watch their favorite shows. I make sure parents leave them with me so that we can bond. They talk to me about their day, the things that are important to them. For up to 2 hours it’s just us, so they learn independence, and salon etiquette. People that experience hair loss want privacy, and understanding. They want to know how to live without the wigs, and cover ups. I help them do so, while building their confidence back. I am most proud of the results. Parents struggle with untamed and tender headedness with their children. I help them overcome that. I make the hair combing process easier on them and the children. I have faced a few challenges while owning a full service Salon. The responsibilities of making sure everyone has a place to work, keeping everything up to code, paying the bills even if they don’t have their part. It’s been hectic. Not to mention, hiring someone you can trust with your clients that are just as consistent as you are, and have a passion for children is extremely hard. So I am always booked. Which is a good problem to have, but also can be a bad problem if you have regulars who can’t get an appointment due to me being booked all the time. I’m still overcoming challenges I’m only 3 years old. We turn 4 in January. If I could inspire a teenager who is doing hair in their parent’s kitchen to keep going. Get licensed. Stay the course, then I’ve done my job. We are the present. In order for this industry to stay alive we must pass the torch on to our future stylist.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start at the Sparkle & Shine Salon and Spa located in arlington Texas. The steam room and sauna is so relaxing and refreshing. The Pedicures are amazing and the mimosas are so tasty. Then I would head over to get massages with Monica Lewis at the Massage Therapist located inside Lady Tea DFW Hair Clinic. I would go to Tj’s Catfish and wings for some good daiquiris and some good bar b que at the Mjay’s Smokehouse. Then for great shopping I would stop by Unforgettable Lookz to get some cute outfits, get our hair done at Uneek Beauty and our lashes done at One Touch Beauty Bar. We would go to Tuchi of Arlington for a Night on the town where the live music and the Dj are on point. The ambiance is nice and the drinks are good. They also have hookah. We would stay at the Luxx Hotel in arlington. Then go to breakfast at the Breakfast Brothers. So so good. We would go to Chef Tam’s Express for some good soulfood. Then arlington Improv for some good laughs. Temptations is a great lounge to go get good drinks and finger foods. My favorite is the grilled shrimp basket.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Lady Hairroin trained me. She saw that I had a gift with children, and pushed me into my purpose as a Kid’s Hairstylist. I’d also like to thank Sirawn Kincade my distributor for NouriTress, Nairobi, and Affirm. He introduced me to DeShawn Bullard, who is the Ceo and Founder of NouriTress. They helped me cultivate my passion for Hair Restoration into my business as a Hairloss Specialist. Last but not least my clients that stand by me, when there is a salon on every corner.
They choose me, and trust me over and over again.
