We had the good fortune of connecting with LaChrisha “Chris Denae” Wallace and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaChrisha “Chris Denae”, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit about me. So once I had obtained my Esthetician license some years ago I finally decided to take a chance on myself. I began planning what did I want my name and brand to represent, what clients do I want to attract and how do I create a business that people flock to.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I consider what I do, enhancing natural beauty a creative art. The ability to not only have the technical aspects but the creativity and imagination to take what one naturally has to the NXT LVL! It’s an exhilarating and humbling experience every time I am privileged to express my skills. This is only the beginning for me and it was difficult to overcome myself and get out-of my own way. Realizing that II was the only thing that was holding me back. And recognizing I have to change the narrative I am telling myself and start working towards who I really am inside. And she has been dying to get out!! It’s not always unicorns and rainbows. Sometimes it’s a struggle especially when things don’t go according to your plan and time-line. But you have to make a conscious effort 24/7 and remember what you have been wanting is on the other side of your fears. So you must keep going. The lessons never stop lol there’s a lesson in every failure and every success. You just have to be open to see it for what it is and build on it. As for the world I want the world to know simply, I am here. Here to serve the tribe of clients who just want to naturally enhance their unique beauty and still be their authentic selves. I want to say to them, “Welcome to the NXT LVL of you!”

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a good one! I am a foodie so I am always looking for new places to dine and enjoy fabulous drinks. We would definitely hit Cane Russo for some of the best pizza and Freeman’s Cajun for some live music in Deep Ellum. The Happiest Hour for some TV worthy drinks (yes they were featured on Epic Eats). Oh and my favorite brunch spot Blue Mesa with the bottomless mimosas! Shopping of course at North Park and other little hidden gems in the area. Be adventurous and spontaneous who knows where we end up!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my husband, Tray, BFF Kim & my sister Ebony for helping me realize my potential and always pushing me no matter how much I doubted myself. They continue to cheer me on every step of the way!
