We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyt Lyn Walken and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyt Lyn, how do you think about risk?
A big one indeed. When I started running Mantracking classes I considered all the risks to bring such a primitive Art back in style. In the end, I was quite surprised and amazed by the positive response I received, from L.E. Officers to Search and Rescue Volunteers, from Army Personnel to civilians.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel honored to trade the ancient Art and Science of reading, following and interpreting human tracks. I love to share knowledge. Back to 2015 I attended my first Mantracking classes and in 2018 Mike Hull, owner and founder of Hull’s Tracking School, made me his Official Represenative and Instructor. The main challenges were basically related to a bunch of jealous people who tried to destroy me and my work by creating fake Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profiles in order to offend me and smash my reputation down.
Personally speaking, I went along with my own path, focusing on offering good classes and valuable contents throughout my books, my webinars and my free essays.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s a long list of places in Europe I would recommend. I would pick up Engadine and Saint Moritz as my fave. Check out for Silva Plana lakes, you will have epic scenarios as well as amazing and 100% alpine food quite everywhere!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In first place, Mike Hull, owner and founder of Hull’s Tracking School. In second place, my mates at Conservation Rangers Operations Worldwide Inc., a Non-Profit organization registered 501(c)(3) in the US.
Our mission, as an international, educational institution, is to establish and train Rangers to set standard in the skills necessary to support, train and supplement anti-poaching and conservation efforts worldwide, and specifically in medium and high risk areas.
