We had the good fortune of connecting with KRISTYN HEISLER and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KRISTYN, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
A major life event occurred and I knew that my current income level would not suffice to take care of my kids and myself the way I saw fit.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Kristyn Ruth Heisler. My story all began when I started working for a small family owned Italian Restaurant across the street from my high school. 20 years later I am still in business with that family who owned the restaurant. We now operate a restaurant, car dealership, and a large insurance brokerage. We don’t just broker finance and insurance companies, our mission is to help develop as many leaders as we can so more people can be in business for themselves. This is important to us, because when you are running your own business you can create your own schedule to put God and family first. We are proud and excited at the number of people we have seen personally develop while working with us. It took a lot of grit and grind to get to this point in our careers. We have made decisions to stay steady and hold strong no matter what happens in our personal lives. We know God has put us on this incredible path and we will not fumble His opportunity. We want the world to know that as our business grows we will play a bigger role in helping the children of the world. We are partnered with a non profit charity that helps children around the world with basic needs as food, water, education and most importantly, love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We do often have business partners fly in from other states for meetings and when they are here some of the cool things we have done is take a tour of Dallas Cowboy stadium, the Fort Worth Stockyards, the Arboretums in FW and in Dallas. We have a lot of business owner friends who own restaurants so we would take them to Lone Star Cafe in Arlington for brunch, Cafe Italia in Grapevine for a good dinner. One of our other favorite places is Taste Community restaurant in Fort Worth. They do not give you a price on your bill, you pay what you like and they feed homeless in the restaurant, so when you pay you are covering someone else’s meal that can’t afford to pay. The Bishop Arts District is always a fun place to go and walk around with lots of shopping and eating. We also enjoy walking through inspiration alley/Foundry District in downtown FW, there are murals, graffiti art down the building walls, very cool and inspirational.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There was a family who owned an Italian Restaurant across the street from my high school. I started waiting tables for them at 15 years old and loved working for them because of the family atmosphere. I helped them open several restaurants across the DFW area. They gave me a foundation to learn about business and how to keep family first. I could not have developed in this way without their love and guidance. Thank you Doko Family.
