Meet Kristin Delgado | Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Dallas DFW

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristin Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristin, how do you think about risk?
Growing up, my father encouraged me to live life to the fullest. He was always on the hunt for an adventure, never happy to simply settle for a mediocre life. He took risks in his professional life and his personal life. When I was 11, he got accepted to a Fullbright Teacher Exchange Program, and our family moved to Zimbabwe for a year. Life at remote Dadaya High School outside of Zvishavane was like nothing we had ever experienced before- it was uncomfortable. It was unknown. It was truly taking a risk in life with no guarantee of the outcome.
When I am fearful or anxious about a new situation, I remember my father’s spirit of adventure. I want to live a full life and that means not passing on exciting new opportunities. Rather than focusing on the outcome, I focus on enjoying the experience and being open to new adventures.
Moving to DFW from Hawaii with no jobs was a huge risk. But we chose to look at it as a family adventure. We gave up our home, our job security, our community, our support system. It is scary leaving the security into the unknown. But the desire to shake up the monotony was stronger than the desire to play it safe. My father always said that win or lose, at least you would have a great story.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a local Real Estate agent providing a concierge service to buyers and sellers in the DFW area. This means that I approach home sales with a different perspective. My core focus is to become my client’s lifetime consultant for all things home.
I was honored to be awarded Rookie of the Year at Keller Williams Realty Dallas DFW for 2019. This gave me the confidence to take my business by the horns and run it the way I wanted to. I want to spend time building relationships rather than focusing on the number of transactions. When my clients have any questions relating to their homes, I want them to think of me first. I am never too busy to take their call and assist them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
DFW is an awesome area, where we have so much to do right at our fingertips. I love the art and culture both in Dallas and Fort Worth.
First on our stop would be the Perot Museum of Nature and Sciences, which no matter your age is an awesome experience. We would find a great lunch spot in Deep Ellum where the artist vibe is irresistible. Trinity Forest Adventure Park would keep the excitement up for the day.
We would make sure to spend a day in Fort Worth, starting at the Stockyards. No trip to Fort Worth is complete without a longhorn experience. My favorite place to find food is Magnolia Street- from Heim BBQ to Salsa Limon. The Fort Worth water gardens would round out our day.
I am an outdoor enthusiast, so a kayaking trip down the Trinity River would be a must. Add in an escape room and it would be a great time!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Real estate is not just about houses, it is about building community. Part of building my community has been to partner with a local BNI Networking Group. We meet weekly and run our group following the Givers Gain philosophy, which means we focus on giving business to fellow networkers rather than getting business for ourselves. Having the entire BNI Perfect Timing group support my business has helped solidify that working by referral the right way to run my business. As Brian Buffini always says, “Give it out in slices and it comes back in loaves.”
