We had the good fortune of connecting with Kordell Rashad and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kordell, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
When I think about risk I’ve taken I’ve come to watch many of those I truly cared about grow disappointment in me as my mistakes have shown to be characterized as selfishness. Dispite the fact that in the past if I came up on something I would share my last and they seemed to enjoy me being that way yet it was when I decided to just go at it alone is when I’ve gained this reputation. See though I took that risk I’ve found myself reaching a breakthrough that I could not obtain waiting on others or giving them all of my plays and options to work with thus leaving me with next to nothing. Risk has taken a toll that build up walls between me and others yet it is definitely paying off and I’m finding myself living out better days as I see the fruits of my labor begin to sprout. I would also like to say I would not be anything without what I’ve been through or the people who helped me along the way. Risk can be so scary because there is a chance of losing and I’ve lost BIG and a bunch of times not just ONCE. You literally have to give it your all and take chances and take the losses and just believe that one day you will win and when you do you win BIG!

Recently I wrote a book called “attention everybody: The Experiment Edition” based on today’s social media era of the addiction that people develop over time while using these platforms to seek attention for whatever reason and even offline in real life as well. Different social settings and reasons that people may try to gain attention all explained in the book. I feel that it is a big topic now a days so I decided I’d put together a collage of information about it. I’m extremely proud of myself and For now it is available at Amazon but will soon be available in more places very soon. This was a very slow process that took me months to complete I even gave up on it but came back to it and got it done ( The book). It was very difficult as I’m not in the best situation I’d like to be in to put it together. I had to be determined for myself to complete this project because I do not have others that push me to do the things I do. In fact I find myself in the exact opposite type of atmosphere yet I still was able to get it done due to my determination to make it happen. I want the world to know that when you feel like giving up or something is impossible to just believe and turn down the sound around you. Focus on what you want and just take the chance. My next book is already in the works but it won’t be anything like this at all. I’m looking forward to now writing about real stories and real moments that happened in my life. Stay tuned.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to red lobster in mesquite. That was one of my favorite spots or olive garden, Texas roadhouse and maybe to the mall. Apple bees was another spot we’re you would catch me at a lot as well. Am30 movie theater brings back so many memories so that’s another spot as well!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes I would like to s/o my hometown mesquite/balch springs Texas and all of my teachers from mchworter elementary, Edison titch elementary, Wilkinson Middle School and West mesquite high school. I had some of the most impressive teachers and coaches that you would ever meet. I also was in the principal office often and had frequent meetings with the staff because I was somewhat of a challenge but I made it and I want to thank them for having patience with me. I’ve also written a book titled ” Attention everybody” that I’m inspired by at the moment since it’s my first completed body of work.
