Meet Kirsten Nicholson | Creative Director | Spiritual Advisor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kirsten Nicholson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kirsten, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Fortunately, throughout my life I’ve experienced moments where I was supposed to give up but kept going, and others where I held onto things I should have let go. With time and growth, I’ve learned how to recognize what deserves my energy and what doesn’t. If you view “giving up” as letting go for your greater good, it never feels like a loss. Often, the things we’re called to release are distractions meant to knock us off our path. Still, even when you’re fully pursuing your purpose, obstacles will appear, but it’s important to know the difference between a challenge that strengthens you and a sign to let go. Both ultimately redirect you. When you’re not meant to give up, you’ll receive signs guiding you forward. For example, if you’re destined to shine as a star, regular jobs may never work out, while opportunities aligned with that path will keep resurfacing. The obstacles you face will shape and prepare you to be the best at what you do. On the other hand, when something is no longer meant for you, you’ll feel it—not as growth, but as a loss of yourself. For me, this has shown up in relationships and work. The most important question to ask is: Will this be worthwhile? Am I strengthening a muscle, or am I losing my grip?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is deeply connected to my life experiences, my spirituality, and my ability to transform struggle into beauty. What sets me apart is that I do not just create for the sake of aesthetics. I create to heal, to express truth, and to inspire others to see beyond the surface. Whether it is through spirituality , visual storytelling, or performance-inspired visuals, I infuse my work with authenticity and a style that blends edge with elegance, glitter with grit.
What I am most proud of is that my art has become both a mirror and a voice, not just for me but for others who resonate with my story. I am excited about the fact that my creativity constantly evolves, and I never box myself into one form. My brand is not about perfection. It is about honesty, resilience, and shining even when it is uncomfortable to be seen.
Getting here was not easy. I have had to overcome a lot, including times of instability, being misunderstood, and even having to rebuild myself from scratch. Those challenges forced me to grow thicker skin but also a softer heart. I overcame them by refusing to let pain silence me and by using creativity as my way of pushing forward.
The biggest lesson I have learned is that obstacles are not signs of failure. They are stepping stones. They teach you whether to push harder or to let go gracefully. Another lesson is that your uniqueness is your power. The moment you stop trying to fit into someone else’s mold, your real artistry starts to shine.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is this: I am living proof that your story, no matter how messy or difficult, can become your art. My work is a reminder that transformation is possible, that beauty can come out of brokenness, and that every voice, no matter how unconventional, deserves to be heard.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I would want to create a trip that was equal parts vibe and memory-making. I do not usually get the chance to go out, so this is more of a dream itinerary. If I could plan it, it would start with us getting ready together, with outfits, music, makeup, and laughter, because the glow-up before going out is half the fun.
We would spend our days exploring places that have both style and soul. Funky thrift stores where you can score unique pieces while also snapping cool photos. A quirky ice cream shop that looks straight out of a mood board but also delivers flavors worth remembering. A rooftop pool with drinks, music, and the perfect city view, where we could lounge, laugh, and take those effortless “living our best life” pictures.
At night we would dive into performance and nightlife, with burlesque shows and drag performances that are not just entertaining but empowering, full of artistry, creativity, and community. Other nights could be trivia with cocktails, rooftop lounges, or live music spots where the vibe feels authentic and alive.
Everywhere we would go would have that duality, aesthetic for the photos but purposeful for the memories. By the end of the week, we would not just have a camera roll full of stunning pictures, we would have moments that actually mattered, stitched together through food, music, laughter, and experiences that felt real.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To all the fellow weirdos who aren’t afraid to be themselves!
