We had the good fortune of connecting with Kinsie Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kinsie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting Soul Family Healing came from both my personal experience and what I was seeing in others. I’ve always been drawn to self-development and inner work, and during my years teaching elementary school, I realized how much the social and emotional side of growth really matters. I watched teens and young adults wrestle with confidence, resilience, and simply wanting to feel seen. At the same time, I could remember what it meant in my own life to have someone truly listen without judgment.

That combination is what pushed me to create Soul Family Healing. I wanted to offer a space where people feel grounded and supported, but also walk away with practical tools for navigating change. Coaching and Reiki became my way of working on a deeper level by supporting personal growth alongside emotional and energetic balance.

So for me, this wasn’t simply about starting a business. It was about building a space where people can explore who they are, reconnect with their confidence, feel empowered in the choices they make, and step into lasting change.

What should our readers know about your business?
Soul Family Healing is really my heart’s work. I offer transformational life coaching and Reiki, with a focus on helping people feel grounded, confident, and supported as they navigate change. What sets me apart is the way I blend the structure and accountability of coaching with the energy and balance of Reiki healing. Each session is personal, and I meet people exactly where they are.

I’m proud that I’ve built this business from the ground up while also teaching full-time. Honestly, it hasn’t been easy. Some days it was messy, and I doubted myself, but I showed up anyway. What kept me going was remembering why I started: to create a space where people can feel truly seen and leave with tools they can actually use.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. I used to wait until things felt “perfect,” but the truth is growth only happens when you take the leap and figure it out as you go. And that’s what keeps me moving forward.

What I want the world to know about Soul Family Healing is that it’s not just about healing. It’s about empowerment. My hope is that every person I work with walks away feeling more confident in who they are, more connected to themselves, and more capable of creating lasting change in their lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I’d start with a hike at Arbor Hills and some crystal shopping at Lightworks Sanctuary. On Sunday we’d hit the Frisco Farmers Market, grab some local goodies, and have dinner at one of my favorites in The Shops at Legacy, Bulla Gastrobar or Darna Mediterranean Eatery. I’d plan a Grapevine day for historic downtown, browsing books at Talking Animal Books, and grabbing a beer at Hop and Sting Brewery. On Thursday we’d head to Carrollton for record shopping at Dead Wax records before trivia night at 3 Nations Brewery. And of course, no trip would be complete without grabbing an iced latte from 151 Coffee.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a big shoutout to my Reiki teacher, Terri Blessingame. She not only mentored me as a practitioner but also supported me through my own emotional healing process back in college. Her guidance gave me the confidence to step fully into this work. I’m also grateful to my family and students. They’ve taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of truly listening.
