We had the good fortune of connecting with Kierra Mckinney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kierra, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from Louisiana born and raised I currently reside in Texas because I felt like starting my business here I would flourish versus being in Louisiana. I grew up around lots of family and lots of love however when I lost my grandmother in 2010 life became a little hard for my mother she was a single mother of 3 kids and I watched her work 2-3 jobs to support her sometimes I would barely see her and now that I am a single mother of 2 I don’t want that for me or my girls I want to always be able to do what I want when I want and not always worry about finances I want to live life

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a licensed esthetician trying to become the best version of myself. I want everyone to know my name to know my brand. It has not been easy at all in fact it’s still not easy as I stated before I’m from Louisiana and most of my clients are there so moving to a new state having to start all over I often get discouraged or frustrated because I’m not yet where I want to be but I know with having your own business comes patience I have to humble myself pray and keep God first at all times. In due time everyone will know Karma’s Glow Studio

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many good restaurants to choose from it’s hard to just pick a couple. Downtown Dallas is great. I would love to take my friend to Izkenia restaurant for a nice brunch. I’m a big foodie and most of my friends are too so I would definitely take them to the farmers market. For some relaxation I would go to Spa Caste it’s always a nice vibe there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shout out my sister and my mother for always being my biggest support system when it came to me wanting to do esthetics. They’ve been by my side since day one whether it was getting the kids while I went to school for 6 months or letting me practice services on them nothing they’ve ever done for me went unnoticed I love them to the moon and back
