Meet Kevin Robinson | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevin, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of The Pie Dude is consistency, community, and making sure people feel the love. I didn’t start this brand just to sell pies I wanted folks to experience something bigger than dessert. From the first bite, I wanted them to feel the love, the care, and the intention behind every pie. I’ve stayed consistent with quality, stayed true to my roots, and always showed love to the people who supported me early on. Word of mouth, showing up to events, making that one extra delivery. All of that matters. I treat The Pie Dude like more than just a business… it’s a piece of who I am. And people can feel that.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m the founder of The Pie Dude, a dessert brand built on love, hustle, and heart. What sets me apart is that I don’t just sell pies, I serve comfort, tradition, and joy in every container . Each pie has a story behind it, whether it’s inspired by my family, my faith, or just the good memories tied to a warm dessert. I make it personal, and people can taste that.
I’m most proud of how far The Pie Dude has come from a simple idea that started out of boredom. I was looking for something to do during some downtime, and what started as just baking for fun turned into a full-blown business. I still get excited every time someone tries my pie for the first time and their face lights up that never gets old. I’m also proud of building this while being a full-time college student. Balancing classes, business, and life hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it.
No, it wasn’t easy at all. There were days I wanted to quit, days I felt overlooked or burnt out. But I reminded myself why I started to represent where I come from, to show love through my work, and to create something bigger than myself. Faith, support from my people, and just showing up even on the hard days kept me going.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency wins. You don’t need to have it all figured out — just keep showing up and keep pouring love into what you do.
What I want the world to know is that The Pie Dude isn’t just a dessert brand. It’s a reminder that something small like a pie can bring people together, start conversations, and create memories. I’m building something sweet, one slice at a time.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d hit Six Flags Over Texas early in the week for the thrill gotta ride Titan at least once. After that, we’re pulling up to Hutchins BBQ for some real Texas eats. Brisket, sausage, all that.
We’d chill at Klyde Warren Park, catch a sunset at the rooftop, and maybe hit Deep Ellum for live music and street art. I’d show them Paul Quinn College, introduce them to some campus culture, then wrap the trip with church or brunch, and of course some pie from The Pie Dude.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
