We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Rainey-King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is always treating people how I would like to be treated, being passionate about the craft of writing, producing and directing. I have writing 51 books now, completed three movies in a six month span and wrote 9 scripts in that span as well. I am very passionate about my love for writing and I go super hard for anything that I have a passion for.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Rainey-King Productions is a film production company founded and based in Dallas, Texas by Kendra Rainey-King and Dameon King. What sets us apart is our range in movies and bringing all movies based on the books of Kendra Rainey-King. Rainey-King Productions is in the beginning stages but the writer has three movies under the platform in which two of them will be streaming this Fall and one in January of 2024. It is never easy to start a business and it takes hard work and determination but with the right team behind you it can definitely make it worth the while. When it comes to challenges, you have to think business always and never personal with any decision that needs to be made. I want the world to know that Rainey-King Productions is bringing some very different movies with a different unique style and every movie has a message.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take my friends to Mi Cocina, XOXO, Kiss Dallas and the Mimosa Bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely want to shoutout to Tekia Gee for recognizing me for this shout out. I want to also give a shout out to my amazing husband and business partner of Rainey-King Productions-Dameon King. Along with Anishea Jones (amazing business woman and actress), Danielle Hall, Brittney Preston, Lequasha Harden, Shana Helton and anyone who has a passion to do what we do and were told that we couldn’t. Shout out the Ones as well doing big things in Texas: Draper Wynston, Tony Williams, Montreal Diggs, Corey Pratt, Kenny Gardner and Tyrone Betters. Also, shout out to my new organization coming soon..”WomenCan” which is an organization that will lead and support the city of Dallas in numerous ways from drives for children, feeding the homeless, public events for teens and adults on important issues arising in our community and a sisterhood.
