We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
A few years ago I took a business and marketing class. I really enjoyed learning about the ins and outs of running a business. I’ve also worked for quite a few businesses and have experience working in management. I would consider myself to be a leader and I strongly want to make a positive impact on other people’s lives. I love creating art and I’ve always wanted to design clothing ever since I was a kid. In 2023, I created: ‘Blessed and Chosen Co.’ I made an Instagram page @blessedandchosenco. as a faith based safe space where I can share my art, bible quotes, merch, fundraisers and so much more! In my shop, I have colorful apparel, an assortment of unique merch. and original artwork. Creating a business to sell my personally designed apparel and artwork allows me to transform my passion into a purposeful venture. It provides a platform to share my creativity with the world, fostering a sense of fulfillment. Beyond self-expression, it opens avenues to connect with a community that resonates with my art. The main purpose behind creating Blessed and Chosen Co. is that I want to help others and make the world a better place. I have plans on doing so much more than just selling clothing and creating art. Having a business can be competitive. I embrace risks with faith, acknowledging that every journey starts somewhere.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love all types of art. My favorite types of art are anything thats bright, colorful and abstract. I love live painting and exploring new places. I had the opportunity to paint in New York State at Evolutions a few months ago and had such a blast. It was great being able to meet so many talented artists, djs and musicians. I am looking forward to painting at more music festivals and raves from all over. Not only do I love to make art, but I love to travel, cook, play piano and make music. I recently published my coloring book, which is now available both online and in stores at Barnes & Noble. It took some time to design all of the pages. Overall I am proud of myself, for this has been a dream of mine from a very young age. Some future plans include going on mission trips, teaching art, making fun projects with children and volunteering & donating to those who are hungry. I want to be known not only for my art, but also for my kindness. I want to make a difference in the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I honestly really love nature! Especially on days when it’s warm and sunny. I would go quadding on atvs, swimming and hiking. Horseback riding is so fun! If I’m cooking, I would love to go grab some delicious food from my favorite store: Trader Joe’s! For takeout, I love pizza and a bunch of appetizers! My favorite drink would probably be tea or seltzer with lemon. Also, I love bakeries so much and would grab some pastries and tiramisu! On the weekends, NYC has some cool edm shows that go on throughout the whole night. Theres so many spots to try different types of food. There’s always fun stuff going on in the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to say thank you to Mrs. Rossnagel, Mr. Fuge and Mrs. Masiello. I am so grateful for all the fun art projects and all that you have taught me.
