Meet Kendra Frank | Founder of Elliott’s Voice, wife and Mom!!

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendra Frank and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kendra, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be one of empowerment and inclusion—one that transforms moments of challenge into opportunities for connection. I founded Elliott’s Voice after a deeply personal experience at the zoo when my son, Elliott, couldn’t communicate because his iPad was dead. In that moment, a simple laminated paper with images opened his world, and I realized that no one should be silenced by technology limitations. I want people to remember me as someone who turned that moment into a movement that ensures every individual, regardless of how they communicate, has a voice. Ultimately, I hope my work inspires others to believe in simple solutions that can create profound change and to always choose compassion and accessibility over complexity.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My work is deeply personal—it all started when my son Elliott, who has autism and Apraxia of speech, experienced a moment of silence when his iPad ran out of battery. In that moment, a simple, laminated piece of paper allowed him to express himself, sparking my passion to develop accessible, low-tech AAC boards. That idea evolved into Elliott’s Voice—a nonprofit devoted to empowering individuals to communicate their needs and dreams using straightforward, cost-effective tools.
What sets us apart is our genuine commitment to creating practical solutions from the heart, without relying on donations or expensive technology. Every board is designed and produced with love, a testament to the belief that transformative change doesn’t always require high-tech approaches.
My professional journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve navigated resource challenges while balancing my roles as a mother to two amazing sons—Elliott, my inspiration, and Connor, a high school senior—and a dedicated leader. My husband has been a steadfast supporter, covering all printing and expenses purely out of love. I also carry the cherished memory and guidance of my late father and father-in-law, whose mentorship continues to inspire my efforts.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that perseverance and authenticity are essential to overcoming obstacles. I want the world to know that Elliott’s Voice is more than a nonprofit—it’s a movement born from family, love, and the unwavering belief that every voice deserves to be heard.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to several key pillars in my journey. First, my son Elliott—the inspiration behind Elliott’s Voice—whose experience sparked the idea that transformed our lives. I also want to recognize my son Connor, a high school senior whose journey and perspective continue to inspire me every day. I’m deeply grateful to my husband for his unwavering support in covering all printing and expenses, a true testament to our commitment driven solely by love. Finally, I honor my family, especially my late dad and father-in-law, whose guidance, mentorship, and encouragement have been the foundation of my success. Their love is woven into every step of this journey.
