We had the good fortune of connecting with Kendall Ogletree and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kendall, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Happy It’s Ours? Honestly… vibes, grit, and good drinks. We’re a little bit country, a little bit city, and a whole lot of “how can we make your day better?” We didn’t start this brand with a million-dollar budget or celebrity backing—we started it with love, determination, and a blender. [literally].

What really sets us apart is that we don’t just sell drinks—we serve “happy” in a cup. Whether it’s a daiquiri, a margarita, or a mocktail for the little ones (or the grown folks taking a break), Happy It’s Ours is a whole mood. We keep it real, we keep it fun, and we keep showing up—even when things get hard.

We recently participated in our first-ever Margarita Stroll in Downtown McKinney, and let’s just say… the feedback was phenomenal. Folks stood in line,…That moment reminded us we’re doing something right.

At the end of the day, our secret sauce is simple: community, consistency, and not being afraid to try new things. We believe if you create something with heart and stay rooted in who you are, people feel that—and they come back for more.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Happy It’s Ours is our little happy place—and we built it from the ground up, one daiquiri at a time. We’re a family-owned spot where you can pull up, grab a made-to-order drink (boozy or not), and just feel good for a minute. We serve everything from classic daiquiris and margaritas to mocktails and sweet treats, and we keep it simple: good drinks, good vibes, and something for the whole crew.

What makes us different? Honestly… it’s us. We’re real people who care about our community. We listen, we adjust, we show up. We’re not trying to be flashy—we’re just trying to make people smile, whether you’re celebrating something or just trying to survive the week. We’ve got options for the grown folks and the kids, and we’re always adding new flavors and ideas to keep things fresh.

Getting here was not easy. Between permits, approvals, and surprise utility costs (don’t even get me started on that), there were plenty of moments that tested our patience. We had to learn fast, ask questions, and push through a lot of red tape just to open our doors. But every challenge taught us something—and now we’re stronger, smarter, and more committed than ever.

One of our proudest moments so far was participating in our first-ever Margarita Stroll. The love we received was unreal..That let us know we’re on the right path.

At the end of the day, Happy It’s Ours is about bringing joy, building something real, and creating a space that feels like it belongs to everyone. We’re not perfect, but we’re passionate—and we’re just getting started.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to town, we’d definitely have a week full of good eats, laughs, drinks, and a little bit of Texas sprinkled in. I’d make sure they got a full taste of what makes our area special.

Day 1: Kickback & Catch Up
We’d start off easy with some good barbecue or Tex-Mex for lunch, then swing by Happy It’s Ours (of course!) for a daiquiri or mocktail and catch up under the shade. That evening, we’d keep it chill with a game night—either at home or one of the local adult game rooms that serve drinks and let you act like a big kid for a bit.

Day 2: Culture & Comfort Food
We’d hit a local museum or stroll through a historic downtown area—browse some boutiques, grab coffee, and people-watch. Dinner would be comfort food—think southern classics or a soul food spot—and maybe end the night with dessert from our shop or a sweet frozen drink to-go.

Day 3: Rodeo Season Vibes (if it’s that time of year)
If it’s rodeo season, we’re going all in—boots, hats, funnel cakes and all. Before we head out, we’d definitely stock up at Happy It’s Ours—gallons, pouches, and maybe a jello shot or two for later. It’s all about pre-gaming responsibly and having a good time.

Day 4: Nature & Nostalgia
We’d take a walk through one of our parks or hit the trails to get some fresh air and sunshine. Then maybe host a backyard hangout—complete with party bundles or drink flights from Happy It’s Ours, of course.

Day 5–6: Day Trip Energy
We might take a little day trip into the city for some shopping, rooftop views, or a nice dinner. On the way back, a couple bottled cocktails from us riding in the cooler makes for the perfect end to a fun day.

Day 7: Unwind & Reflect
We’d close the week out with something low-key—maybe grab brunch, watch a movie, or just sip something cold from Happy It’s Ours while packing up and laughing over the week’s highlights.

Around here, it’s not about doing the most—it’s about making memories, taking your time, and keeping the good energy flowing. And we like to think Happy It’s Ours helps set that tone every time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely—because if there’s one thing I know for sure, Happy It’s Ours didn’t happen in a bubble.

First and foremost, shoutout to our landlord for giving us a shot and allowing us the space to build something special. Not everyone’s willing to take a chance on a startup with a vision and a blender, but they did—and we’re so grateful for that.

Next, a big thank you to The City of Lowry Crossing for approving our business and helping us plant roots. It may be a small town, but the support we’ve received has been mighty.

And then there’s my mom, Leslie Williams—the real MVP. She’s the one who keeps everything (and everyone) moving behind the scenes. She supports, she encourages, and she shows up in all the ways that matter. She deserves more than a shoutout—she deserves stock options!

Lastly, to our patrons—every single person who has ever shopped with us, told a friend, tagged us on social media, or stood in line—thank you. Y’all are the heartbeat of our business. We see you, we appreciate you, and we’re raising our next daiquiri in your honor.

Happy It’s Ours is for the people—and we truly wouldn’t be here without ours.
