We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelly Jé and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelly, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

I have always known corporate America wasn’t for me. I thrive more when I am working for myself. I was already doing certain task for family and friends and decided, “let’s turn this into a business.” At first I thought it would be easy and simple to get started, but boy was I wrong! There was a lot of trial and error, however I knew I wanted to create generational wealth for myself and those around me. When I first started I didn’t want to put everything out too fast and confuse people. I sat down with my team and started working on a plan. I set deadlines to have certain projects completed. I had my accountability partners around making sure I stayed on top of my to do list. I often asked myself what would happen if I failed or if anyone would support. Those negative thoughts quickly changed as I started working with other people and interviewing people I never thought would talk to me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I started Kelly Jé Tv during the pandemic and wasn’t sure how it would take off. I knew I wanted to give people a platform to talk about their business, music, events and more, however I also wanted to create a safe place for people to feel they could come and talk on their journey and not be judge. Kelly Jé Tv was born and have been changing lives one person at a time with our discussions. It was not easy getting started due to lack of support, funds and unsure of the direction in the beginning. Once I found my direction it was time to start putting the plan into action. I have learned not everyone sees your vision the way you do and that’s okay. Not everyone will support YOU the way YOU feel they should. Understand that it is okay because not everyone is suppose to elevate with you. One thing I want people to know about the Kelly Jé brand is I am not perfect. I make mistakes just like everyone else. I am HUMAN! I will never judge anyone and I will always be a listening ear to anyone who needs it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Anyone who knows me know that Dallas in my home! Most people come here and go to the regular areas like Deep Ellum, Uptown and more… not I! My favorite places to eat is Black Jack Pizza (Pleasant Grove), Greenville Ave Pizza (Plesant Grove location only), Two Pondos (Sunny South Dallas), Fuel City, Fish Fridays will always be: Daddy Bobs Catfish (Garland Texas) and any BBQ man who sitting outside with his barbecue pit on the back of his truck will for sure always be a winner. We might head over to White Rock Lake during the week and Rochester Park on Sunday! I want to show my friends parts of Dallas people don’t talk enough about.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

Before anything I have to thank God for creating me and allowing me to be here today in spite of everything I have endured and for my many blessings.

It’s so many people I could thank individually, however I would like to thank my parents and friends for their endless support from listening to me rant to supporting every crazy idea I have. Thanks to everyone who has supported my journey. I thank everyone who has worked with me or referred someone to me. It’s not over and we are just getting started.
