We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaylie Le and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaylie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Growing up in a Vietnamese household, I watched my parents take the ultimate risk—leaving everything behind to immigrate to America in hopes of building a better life for our family. Their courage taught me that life has no limits and no dream is ever too big. That mindset stayed with me and gave me the confidence to take a risk of my own—sharing my homemade recipes on TikTok.

One of the biggest personal risks I took was posting my own recipe creations on TikTok. What started as a fun hobby and a way to share the foods I love—especially the dishes my mom made for us growing up—quickly turned into something more meaningful. I had no idea how people would respond to my content or if anyone would even relate, but I took the leap anyway.

Food is a universal love language, and I’m so grateful that sharing recipes from my own cultural background—and exploring others—resonated with so many. That initial leap of faith opened the door to a career I never imagined: becoming a food content creator. It has led me to exciting opportunities like reviewing restaurants, collaborating with other creators, and most importantly, connecting with people through food.

Taking that risk changed my life, sharing something deeply personal—and it’s led to a career I’m passionate about and truly love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I grew up in Dallas and earned a double bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Texas at Arlington. While in school, I discovered a passion for using my creativity — which led me to start freelancing in social media marketing and content creation, especially in the food industry. I’ve been fortunate to help local businesses like Feng Cha Rockwall and several others in the food industry grow their digital presence.

I originally transferred into UTA as an education major, but soon realized it wasn’t what I truly wanted to pursue. It wasn’t until I gave myself the opportunity to explore and posted what started as silly food recipe TikToks that I recognized where my passion really lived. That moment taught me a valuable lesson: it’s okay to pivot. Sometimes the best decisions come from trusting your instincts and giving yourself permission to start over and trying something new.

Today, I’m a leasing agent in the DFW area by day and a content creator by heart. The same excitement I get from creating content is the same joy I feel when I connect with new people during tours and help them find their home. This is my first role in leasing, and it’s been such a rewarding experience.

If there’s one message I’d want to share with the world, it’s this: take the leap. If you’re unhappy in a certain path, it’s never too late to pivot and start fresh. Whether it’s changing majors, trying a new job, or posting a video just because you love it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Dallas for a week, I’d plan the most iconic dallas experience for them. I would take them to the best Korean BBQ at Ari KBBQ in Carrollton, Hudson House for the most delicious burger and a dirty martini, Steak Yard for the best and most affordable place for amazing steak frites and drinks, Exploring the bishop arts area for the best handroll sushi at otaru and local bakeries and fun bars, Putt Shack in Addison for interactive mini golf, Perot Museum on Thursday Night Tap for fun activities, a fun spa day at World Springs, for the ultimate relaxation experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to personally dedicate my shoutout to someone who has been my biggest cheerleader from the very beginning—my husband, Christian. He’s the one who constantly pushed me to dream big and pursue the things I genuinely love. It was Christian who encouraged me to start posting my recipes online, who never hesitated to try every single dish I made—no matter how experimental or questionable, he has always reassured me with a smile and a “this is good” even though I know there were definitely some questionable moments when I was just beginning to learn how to cook, haha. His support, and unwavering belief in me have played such a huge role in my journey.
