We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Sutter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
While working for other agencies, I saw first hand what clients were looking for and knew that I could provide those services at a high quality for a fair price. Small to medium sized businesses oftentimes don’t have the budget to hire huge agencies, and need a marketer that is personally invested in their success.
Before going fully independent, I had been doing freelance work on the side. When the agency I was contracted with shut their doors during the pandemic, I knew it was finally time to fully invest in myself and dive in to the Social Sutter full time.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Social Sutter is a social media marketing agency dedicated to helping small and medium sized businesses build and maintain an active, engaging online presence. There are two main things I think set us apart from other agencies. Firstly, we truly are an extension of your team. We get to know your business inside and out so that we can produce personalized, branded content that aligns with your goals. Our clients typically wear many hats in their businesses, so being able to take this off their plate while maintaining their personal voice is extremely important to us. Secondly, we know what we are good at and don’t try to upsell additional services to make an extra buck. I firmly believe honesty and integrity have played a huge role in our success and it’s something I will never compromise on.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
No one can visit DFW without trying a frozen margarita from Mi Cocina or Glorias, so that would be one of the first stops. Dallas sports are also a MUST, so depending on the season we’d go to a Stars, Rangers, or Cowboys game. A touristy day visiting Klyde Warren Park and the Dallas Aquarium would also be on the itinerary. Then, we’d cap off the busy week with a rejuvenating trip to World Springs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I was young, my dad felt his corporate job was causing him to miss out on too much of my sister and I’s childhood so he started his own business as a way to control his schedule. Owning his company afforded him the ability to work after my sister and I were asleep or when we were at school. Having a front row seat to his entrepreneurial journey inspired me to follow in his footsteps from a young age. Thank you, Dad, for instilling such a strong work ethic in me and showing me the possibilities of going after your dreams.
