We had the good fortune of connecting with Katrina Neville and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katrina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The whole idea behind starting my own business came from necessity. I am a mother of three awesome kids and I really felt the need to be around more for them. I had already begun decorating cookies a couple of years prior and I felt I had something to bring to the table. I knew it would be a challenge and I wanted to do it right.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Whenever I get asked what I do, I always struggle with trying to fit it all into a neat little bundle. My business is so multi-faceted. I still decorate custom cookies for local customers. I also have an online membership group called the Cookie Crew. In that group, I teach all about cookie decorating in monthly themed tutorials. We also have a 3D cookie cutter and stencil online shop. Recently, I have also incorporated an online membership group for business coaching. On top of all this, I have a quarterly online course and full supply kit that we offer to any level of cookier.

If definitely has not been easy to get where I am today, however it has been so much fun! I have learned that running a small business is truly a labor of love.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have really fallen in love with the whole Dallas, TX area. We moved here 8 years ago from Florida. I feel very strongly that we have the best BBQ in the entire country haha and I would take anyone to Hutchins BBQ in Frisco. I love outdoor activities and we have lots of those here. I would take them to any of the amazing parks and walking trails. We are HUGE Dallas Stars hockey fans so I would definitely try to take my friend to catch a game at the American Airlines Center. There are amazing museums in Dallas, some of our favorites I would visit would be the Perot Museum and the Dallas World Aquarium.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I would like to thank my savior, Jesus Christ. Without Him guiding me, in not only business but in life in general, I wouldn’t be where I am. My amazing husband Steven is always there to lend a hand or an ear when I need it. My business also wouldn’t be where it is today without the help that my sister Kerrie Delp and my Brother-in-law Jason Delp give everyday. They are both my right hand and I so appreciate them. Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank all my followers and especially my Cookie Crew. They are the most supportive group of ladies I could ever ask for.
