We had the good fortune of connecting with Katie Irsaneous and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katie, what do you attribute your success to?
Empowering my team and investing in their personal growth is a huge factor in our success. I am constantly challenging them to dig deep, improve their process and bring new ideas to the table. When people get bored they lose interest and being bored isn’t an option! Watching my team flourish and push themselves is the most rewarding gift.

I have been asked by fellow business owners what the key is to finding the right people. I have always looked for people that have the creative talent needed but more importantly people who are eager and ready to take on the world. I have been extremely lucky to form a driven team of the hardest working women I know. Each person brings their own talents and personality but we all have the same passion and big dreams for where we are headed. We all know when to take a risk and are not afraid of a closed door. They humble me every day and I wouldn’t be able to take on all that we do without each one of them. Luckily, I get to work with women that inspire me daily and keep me laughing!

What should our readers know about your business?
Irsaneous Interiors a commercial interior design firm specializing in multi-family and hospitality. We originally started in residential design and quickly realized our love for commercial.

We all have worked hard to set ourselves apart in our field. Our goal is to take multi-family living and create a hotel living experience. We want to build communities for work, live and play!

Nothing worth having is easy – as my mom and dad used to say. The key to our success is pushing forward and trying to find what works no matter how many tries. To never stop pushing through!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Our team has spent a lot of time working in Dallas for our projects. There are so many fun things to do and we have made the most of it! The Joule Hotel is an ideal place to stay, not only for the amazing rooftop pool & bar, their incredible spa and downstairs speakeasy, but also for the convenience of its location in Downtown. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and Dallas hot spots you can easily walk to. A great way to start your day is by grabbing breakfast at Bread Winners Cafe with its casual scene and delicious food. After breakfast you can spend the afternoon at the Perot Museum or venture over to Klyde Warren Park and stop at one of the food trucks! If you want to take a morning to sleep in, no problem. Once you rise and shine, head on over to Nick and Sam’s for brunch and a bloody mary. One of our favorite spots that you cannot miss out on is lunch or dinner at Hudson House on Lovers Lane. The food and drinks are amazing plus it’s been a great design inspiration for us on multiple projects. One of our favorite items on their menu is their scrumptious burger. If you’re looking for some entertainment and night life, Deep Ellum is the place to go where you can grab a cocktail and listen to some live music. Grab some pre-dinner drinks at HIDE and have your pick of the numerous restaurant options for dinner!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my husband, Michael, for the many sacrifices he has made to help my dream come to life. He is the other half of my soul, the most amazing father, and my dearest friend. I would not have been able to build this company if not for his continued support.

Thank you, Brie Stierwalt, for believing in my wildest dreams and then making them wilder! Thank you, Hannah Davis Ryon, for your mad skills and positive attitude even when I’m running in circles. Thank you, Erica Williams, for biting off more than you even knew and flying higher than You knew you could. Thank you, Eylin Aguayo, for saving my life with all things CAD – we would die without you. Ladies, I’m so lucky to get to work with you every day. It’s truly an honor!

Thank you to all of our team’s spouses, Blake Stierwalt, Kevin Ryon and Casey Williams. We are so grateful for each one of you. We talk about how lucky we are to have you all on a daily basis!

And to my sister, Leah Griffin. Thank you. For being such an incredible friend and always celebrating the victories and valleys.

There are so many wonderful people in all of our lives that have cheered Irsaneous Interiors on and we are grateful for each and every one of you!
