We had the good fortune of connecting with Katiana Serrano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Katiana, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I took a huge risk by quitting my 9 to 5 in Corporate America job. It has been the biggest blessing ever! I get to make a living from home doing what I love! I have fun and I spend more time with my children! That is important to me! Even though, they can drive me mad.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an Event Planner/Crafter! I am absolutely thrilled to be able to decorate, create and bring happiness to others. I love being able to use my talent and passion into a career. I get to make a living while playing, that is what it feels like. It’s still work but it’s fun work. I spent HOURS, YEARS on YouTube. Learning, researching and then having to do some more learning and researching. I am proud to say I have learned everything on my own. I had cried a lot from frustration to comparing myself to others. I didn’t notice my growth till recently. I was organizing my photos and I saw the growth! I saw all the amazing things I have done and created. Most importantly, I realized that I am on the right path. I stopped comparing myself to others and I started enjoying my journey more. I know I won’t ever quite because I love this so much! So I know in a few years, I will be ahead and better my craft and that fills my heart with joy! It took a lot of patience, dedication and sleepless nights to get where I am today. I am no where near where I want to be and I have so much more to learn. See, I am learning Social Media, Marketing and the not so fun part of owning a business. If I am really honest, I have been fighting this for years! I am doing it now so my business can grow and flourish. I don’t enjoy it and that is part of growth. In order to grow your business you have to grow as a person and learn and accept that change is needed. I have learned that Mindset is EVERYTHING! I want everyone to know that they can truly live out their passion and their dreams. If you change your mindset and learn that you will get what you attract that you will change your life forever! I love making people feel special and I am a giver always have been. This is why I love what I do. I want to be able to create with love and translate that in an Event. Mothers to be, birthdays, weddings, sweet sixteens they are all so special. That shows in my work!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I honestly can’t answer this I haven’t really been anywhere.
