We had the good fortune of connecting with Karla Reyes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karla, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We own some business in Mexico so when we arrived to the US I started thinking on something that I could do that will allow me to still take care of my children while still being able to provide a service with the high quality standards I like to have for business, Then I remember tried this amazing dessert in Mexico and I searched for a training that will teach me how to make them once I completed the training and did some test rounds we decided to go ahead and launch an online Bakery servicing our local community so we can keep the demand somewhat in control

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At 2 Bites of Sugar we strive to deliver experiences thru the magic of cooking, the Bombolinis we made are an Italian dessert however every culture we have come across has its own version and I believe that’s fascinating, I’m an entrepreneur, have been for a while now, but I’m also a mom and a wife and that I believe reflects in the way we deliver our products and services everything else is great thanks.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I have lived in Roanoke for over 2 years now and before that I was in Irving, Las Colinas, however every time we have friends coming we usually take them to Old West Caffe in grapevine for breakfast, if they are looking for BBQ we usually go with Spring Creek Barbeque or Hard Eight BBQ and we always include a night in the City usually in Dallas in one of the good spots there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to say my family is my source of support and inspiration, being from Venezuela my family is scattered around the globe but we feel very close top each other, My mom and my sister have always encourage me to follow my dreams and work on my projects and my husband have been my main support for my businesses, he help me manage the business from the operation to the creation process.
