We had the good fortune of connecting with Kareem “ksapp” Sappington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kareem “Ksapp”, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My dedication to sports and entertainment. As a kid growing up I played 3 sports, Football, basketball and baseball and I exceled at them. So my knowledge that I have for that, I wanted to be able to voice my opinions on my own platform. So I started a podcast called Simplyballdroppin.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Outside of my normal 9-5 i’m a successful podcaster. As a podcaster it’s totally a grind. You have to be able to come up with content that people want to hear about. As a YouTube content creator you have to be consistent in what you do. Its alot of obstacles you will come across, but you have to be persistent in what you do. The challenging part of it is getting people to watch your podcast cause some of your closest friend and family will not support you. So “God” sent strangers to my channel and we been elevating ever since. My podcast is unique. I give people the ability to join my panel when I do live shows to voice there opinions, and it stands out. Not only do I just do the podcast I slso my my own clothing brand called SimplyBallDroppin.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Family come in town all the time. We do alot off events at the house, but for first timers I probably recommend grandscape in The Colony. There’s many off attractions and eaterys in that one area. The guest would enjoy
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This was all made possible by home town friends that I grew up with. We started a group chat talking sports and life and just a fellowship supporting each other in times of need. Also this wouldn’t be possible if it wasn’t for my wife Kenisha. She really encouraged me to step out on faith and do something that your passionate about and that is talking sports.
