Hi Kalia, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“To thine own self be true” Shakespeare

To truly understand this quote, you have to be open to understanding yourself in your own true identity.

It was about 5 years ago, I had decided to resign from my career to be become a licensed cosmetologist.

I struggled with creating a name until one night God spoke “B Tru 2 You”.

At that time, I simply heard it as only a business name until one day God spoke “To thine own self be true”

It was at that moment, I understood. I understood that my biggest defeat was myself. It has opened me up to not fear myself even in my own darkness, doubt or despair, but to remain humble and faithful.

With the revelation, I learned that true identity is to be unashamed in who God created one to be.

This quote truly helped me to trust and not fear who I was becoming, but to be true to you, hence by hair salons name.

B Tru 2 You Hair Salon is a multicultural hair salon, created with women and beauty in mind.

B Tru 2 You Hair Salon offers haircare and aesthetic services within the DFW area and surrounding cities including our elderly communities.

We specialize in “All Things Natural” when it comes to haircare needs.

Our goal is to make our clients fall in love with themselves over and over again by enhancing their natural beauty at every appointment.

Our motto is “Be the CROWN you wear” which means your hair is your crowning glory. Your hair is a reflection of you, your style and can tell people alot about you. Be Bold and Courageous in who you are because you are a Queen indeed!

In 2016, our goal was to operate as a mobile salon to cater to women especially single mothers, disabled women, introverted women, work from home women, etc.) we wanted to make it easier to be beautified. But in 2019, due to safety concerns and the heightened crime rate we had to move into a trusted suite location. In business I have faced several highs and lows. I even had doubts in the execution, but when you have a vision that means you have a dream. I have learned to hold on to the mustard seed of faith, knowing that God will is wrapped in the vision God gave me. Standing and believing that it’s going to come to pass if do the work.

In the years that I have been a licensed cosmetologist it’s been more than just developing a lasting and concrete relationship with clients but developing lifelong relationship based on love and support.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When God told me to J.U.M.P. (just use my power), I resigned after 8 years in corporate America. I hadn’t realized that God had been aligning me in my purpose since I was a little girl.

And at the time I enrolled in beauty school I didn’t know God had already prepared a place for me.

I will forever be thankful for my mentor, my encouragement speaker my friend, but also was my cosmetologist instructor, Ms. G.

Ms. G is an amazing woman. She selflessly goes above and beyond to ensure to help people out and even to just cheer them along. She is the reason I am a liscensed cosmetologist, because she believed in me from Day 1. and continues too.
