We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaley Goodall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaley, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I’ve been reflecting a great deal on the impact we have through creating meaningful environments. These environments gather communities, create space for connection, inspire creativity, and celebrate impactful moments in peoples’ lives. It seems simple but given the last few years, I believe the art of gathering is truly healing. I know it has been for me. Each time I work with a client, I’m reminded that the thoughtfulness of the design has the potential to impact a guest in a meaningful way. Although I may never know the impact, I can feel confident they experienced something beautiful. I count it a gift that I get to actively work toward community building each day.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I serve as the creative director and lead designer at Render, an award-winning creative firm. Render works with brands and individuals to provide comprehensive design and education resources. Over the last decade, we’ve elevated and produced 5,000+ events with specialty rentals, artful floral, and custom design.

Finding Render, formerly Beautiful Event Rentals, was a happy accident. I stumbled upon their Instagram account and was immediately intrigued by the concept of elevating event spaces through specialty furniture. I’ve always been drawn to good design, creating intentional spaces, and connecting with others. So, when I was offered a job at the small, growing company, I jumped at the opportunity.

As Render’s first employee, I had the unique ability to grow in and with the business. Anyone who has worked in a small business or start-up culture, knows you wear many hats. No matter your position, you must maintain a flexible, adaptable attitude. Working in this environment, allowed me to gain experience in nearly every facet of the company and has grown me in tremendous ways. As the business shifted, my roles, responsibilities, and skillset expanded to take on the new challenge(s). So, no surprise that I’ve had five different titles over the past five years, and it’s a running joke that I have held every position at the company.

Through all my roles, projects, and moments at Render, my greatest joy has been the work I’ve done developing our brand. When we began the journey of defining who we were, “community” kept coming to mind. We wanted to move past the transactional nature of the traditional vendor relationship and provide an intentional and exceptional service. In order to do so, it was important that our clients left feeling like they gained a friend at the end of the process. Our brand now has the ability to not only create beautiful spaces but also leave people feeling seen, known, and valued. For me, that is the greatest work one can achieve.

The last couple of years have been a consistent refinement of our voice and visual identity, but as we collectively continue to grow, I’m proud of who we are and what we stand for.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Oh, I love this! Funny enough my friends are constantly asking for my recommendation, so much so, that I created an entire Pinterest board for them. Based on the above, it won’t surprise you that experiences and good design are important to me. And the following places consistently check both boxes —

I’d recommend starting your morning perusing the Coppell Farmers’ Market with George coffee in hand. I’d walk over to Tattered Style (my favorite vintage store) and see the latest collection of curated home goods. Then, you can make your way to the French Room at The Adolphus for High Tea. I’m a sucker for tea time ever since traveling to Europe a few years back. And it is without a doubt the closest I’ve come to British-style tea in TX. Next, you have to spend the afternoon exploring the local shops in Bishop Arts (All Good Things is a must) and grab dinner at Sassetta. To wrap it all up, end your day listening to live jazz and sipping on French 75s at Revelers Hall. I promise none of these will disappoint.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt my husband, William. I’m grateful for the ways you love, encourage, pursue, push, and support me. My baby boy, E. Being your mom is the greatest gift. You give my work deep meaning and I see more wonder in the world because of you. My amazing parents. You taught me how selfless love, kindness, and hard work can change the world. And finally, my Creator. The fullness of life can only be found in you.
