We had the good fortune of connecting with Kacy Smyers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kacy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I grew up with parents who ran their own small businesses so it was just nautral for me. My dad started his own business, Paris Pump Service, in 1969. My mom open our event venue is 2003 which is also how I got involved in the event industry.
What should our readers know about your business?
My business name is Paris Party & Event Rentals. We specialize in event planning, event rentals, and balloon designs. We also have an event venue where we host birthday parties, weddings, meetings, baby showers, and a lot more.
What sets us apart from others is our attention to detail and love for the industry. There is no detail to small to discuss! Sometimes the smallest detail can make the biggest impact on an event guests or future client. You have to love this industry to succeed. My team and I have a passion of dreaming up event design and then bringing them to life.
I am proud of our growth over the years. I am proud that we survived 2020 when NO ONE was allowed to gather. I am proud of the amazing team we have.
I got to where I am today from the support of my family, work family and community. We have a great community that has always supported our small business. The hardest year of my career was without a doubt the year of COVID.
The lessons I have learned over the years are countless. I am still learning.
I want the world to know we are growing, we are passionate, and we will do (just about) anything to make your event stress free. The growth of Paris Party is a reflection of our awesome team and all of our family support.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Its got to be downtown! The trees on the square are beautifully lit, making it the perfect backdrop for photos. Other musts while in town would include 107 and Luna Azul for food, Deadcat for their sweet merch, and several of the local boutiques for shopping (Belle Ame & Piggy Piglet).
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Is this only one person? My parents, my husband and kids, my staff, and a very important mentor during my childhood and teenage years, Jean Campbell.
