We had the good fortune of connecting with Kacelia Daniel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kacelia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Outside of being my own boss, just being able to share my passion for art with others. Being able to show my daughter that the sky is the limit and you can do whatever you put hard work behind. Having a plan and committing to the work load, not losing sight of your passion or purpose and your goals.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I am an art teacher, so my students and just everyday experiences keep my creative side nourished. I primarily paint, but love fiber and dabble in other media. I love learning and creating from that new knowledge. I love the chaos of being an artist, balancing work and mom life makes it more rewarding and fun. My brand is just awakening. My goal is to share unique or one of a kind pieces of fiber art, but not limit myself to painting or fiber fashion. Whatever talent is gifted to me is meant to share with the world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not from here, but I have resided here since 2007. I love food, I would say the Dallas Farmers Market, Bishop Arts area. I love Casa del Vegano, that and Rio Lerma are my favorite food spots right now. You can not go wrong with a good sushi spot as well.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my artist friends who have mentored or sparked my creative side that was laying dormant for so long—screaming to get out. My daughter, parents and friends who are always so supportive and encouraging. THANK YOU ALL!!!!
