Meet Julian Bell | Photographer & Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Julian Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Julian, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
I think my answer to this might shock some people. But learning when to step away and try to relax has been the greatest help to me this far. I know everyone likes to romanticize working hard, late nights, and early mornings and trust me it is a part of the process.
But being able to step back and recharge sometimes can be far more important for your mental health and the overall longevity of your business. I think people need to remember to take a breather every now and then.
What’s the point of all this work if you don’t get to enjoy any of the benefits?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s a bit crazy to think I’ve only been behind the camera a little over a year now.
But I’ve always had an eye for videos and photos just not the equipment. My imagination growing up would run wild with ideas of skits and photoshoots. I think a big difference today is I stopped letting those ideas fade and I started making them a reality. (Or getting as close as I can.)
It definitely hasn’t been easy and I have found myself frustrated from time to time. But you can’t get better by doing something else or nothing at all. I try to get just a little better every day. Even if I’m just watching one photography or videography-related video on Youtube that day, something is better than nothing.
I want the world to know that the only thing stopping you sometimes is yourself.
As a creative, I don’t have the newest equipment but I do have my creativity and ingenuity. With those things and God’s grace, you can do anything. All
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If it’s my friend we’re probably going to the movies, picking up some video games, and walking around downtown to take some pictures of course.
Or we’re probably putting together a creative project in my apartment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Honestly, thank you to anyone and everyone who supports me. I know I can be a lot to handle sometimes, especially when I’m passionate about a project. (I tend to ramble.)
I think the best way I approach things would be the Bible verse Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” I always try to learn something from my clients, fellow creators, and supporters. I want to not only perfect my craft but also have a lasting impact on those that I meet.
