We had the good fortune of connecting with Jovaun Valentino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jovaun, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Staying on a consistent schedule with the studio, photoshoots, and music drops.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My Music gives people confidence and reminds them that they are worthy of being the best version of themselves. I’m most excited to see my numbers go up and make fans and change lives through my music. It was very hard at first. It took a lot of ground work going to shows, going to events and meeting other artists clothing brands and A&Rs. I’m also excited about my new “Super Star” In God we trust merch. I overcame my challenges as an artist by surrounding myself with other successful artists. Learning new ways to build fans and get my music discovered every day. I want the world to know that they’re not here alone Jóvaun is always with you through my music to help them get through life and be the best version of themselves.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take them to Will Call or The Garden just for the wings because I LOVE wings. I would also take them to one of my photoshoots or studio sessions to kind of get a day in the life of what I do. I would also order Uber Blacks and meet up with club promoters around the city to party a little bit and have fun. If I was going on a week long trip I would go to California and get some Chicken & Waffles and continue networking out there. I think New York would be a very exciting place to check out because I love fashion and I want to meet some people out there to eventually grow out of Dallas and travel the work doing what I love.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
“Hunnid Billi” manager who helps me set up shows behind the scenes “1Pa” a team of member carrying on our friend “Uncle Skitz” legacy who’s also an artist that passed away and we are keeping his name alive
“Uncle Skitz” friend who passed away that inspired me to make music
