We had the good fortune of connecting with Josiah Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Josiah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was a pastor in Denton for many years leading a church of mainly college students. When Covid hit and students were out of the city for almost 2 years we decided to close down the church. At that point I was looking for something else and learned about One Day Doors and Closets and how they build new doors. I had previously installed several doors over the years in my own renovation work and seeing a new technology come into the door industry felt exciting to me and seemed like something I could be a part of. I contacted the corporate office and began to explore with them opening a dealership in the DFW area.
It felt like a big risk at the time. I remember thinking a lot about what I’d do if it doesn’t work out. I had a lot of support from my wife and family though and it’s been a great start!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are the #1 interior door replacement company in DFW, even with having just started 2 years ago. By using advanced 3D measuring technology we we can replace every door in your house in a matter of hours with no mess. We finish the doors with cabinet grade paint, install all hardware and make sure every door works perfectly. We typically save customers 20-40% on the cost versus using other contractors or handymen.
All these things have helped us grow quickly! With quick growth though come a lot of challenges. We have had to focus on building processes and procedures to make sure we are not letting anything slip through the cracks. I’m very thankful to have a great team who works very hard to ensure our customers have a great experience every job!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love our museums here in DFW! The Kimbell, DMA, Perot… All are spots we frequent as a family. I’d take a friend to those spots. I also rock climb and enjoy bringing friends to the Movement gyms around the metroplex for climbing.
I’m a Denton resident and love the scene in Denton. Seeing shows at Dan’s Silverleaf, Hanging out at Eastside social club or Harvest House is always great!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad has been the biggest influence on my story. He started and ran a couple of different businesses when I was growing up and seeing his work ethic and integrity was inspiring for me. He was able to balance work and life really well and was always present for his family even with the demands of ownership. I go to him often for advice and he continues to help me in my growth both professionally and personally.
