Meet José manuel Mier y teran Oviedo | Automotive tech, automotive transporter, & construction project manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with José manuel Mier y teran Oviedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi José manuel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been driven by the desire for financial freedom and the autonomy to make my own schedule. Working for others, I realized that my potential was constrained by the boundaries of a job description and a fixed timetable. I wanted more control over my financial future and the flexibility to manage my time in a way that aligns with my personal goals and lifestyle. The decision to start my own business was fueled by these aspirations. As far as construction goes it’s been my dads business for probably 30 years now and I’m just here to help him bring it into the 21st century, as far as automotive repair it’s a passion of mine to build and work on cars and figured it couldn’t hurt to profit off my passion. The inclusion of auto transport services was a strategic decision to diversify and increase the resilience of my business.
My vision for the next 5-10 years is to establish a solid foundation for my businesses that not only generates sustainable income but also provides me with the flexibility to pursue other interests and spend more time with family. This journey isn’t just about financial gain; it’s about creating a life where I’m the master of my own time and can make impactful decisions that directly benefit my future.

What should our readers know about your business?
While I can’t tell you much about MITOVA construction due to it being my dads and I just help out I can tell you about my decisions MITOVA auto and MITOVA towing. As far as pride im proud every day that I get to help someone repair their car, modify it or just be trusted to transport it from a to b. Business isn’t what I’d consider booming but im grateful for the clientele I have as it allows me to have the free time to enjoy my friends and family while still making a sustainable income.
I will say nothing about starting or growing a business is easy, my favorite thing to tell people is I don’t do it because it is easy, I do it because I thought it would be!
Obviously there is much more depth to why I do what I do, the main goal of course to have an income that allows me to invest into Realestate and generate the passive income I want for a life of financial freedom. The number one thing I’ve learned while trying to grow my businesses is to have patience and more importantly to have faith in yourself.
If I want to leave people with anything about our brand or image it would be that while we may not always be the cheapest, we do our best to give the best quality work that we can at a competitive rate, and our goal is to do the most we can for the most people.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a week to show my best friend around Collin County, we’d embark on a journey filled with the area’s rich culture, natural beauty, and vibrant culinary scene. We’d start in the historic Downtown McKinney, soaking in its quaint charm and exploring its unique boutiques and eateries. Nature would be a big part of our adventure, with visits to the serene Arbor Hills Nature Preserve and Oak Point Park for some refreshing hikes and picturesque views. For a taste of local lifestyle and cuisine, The Shops at Legacy and Legacy Hall in Plano would be on our list, offering a dynamic blend of shopping and dining experiences. To enrich our trip with culture, we’d dive into the history and art of the region at the Frisco Heritage Museum and the Texas Sculpture Garden. A day trip to Lake Lavon would provide us with a peaceful escape for outdoor activities or just to relax by the water. And, being a sports enthusiast, I’d definitely take my friend to The Star in Frisco, the headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys, for an exclusive glimpse into the world of professional football. This itinerary, in my opinion, perfectly captures the essence and diversity of Collin County, making every day of the visit uniquely memorable.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A couple people I’d like to mention would first and foremost be my father, José Manuel mier y teran Valencia, who was sure to give me his work ethic and ambitions, and who supports me in any and all of my business endeavors, along with my business partner Shaedon bell who’s experience and knowledge has helped us offer more services in the automotive industry when it comes to not only repairs and modifications but custom work as well.
