We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Logan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from a small town about an hour North of Denton called Bridgeport, Texas. I’m one of seven kids and I’m right smack dab in the middle of two brothers and four sisters. So, my larger than life, center of attention personality fits perfect with being the middle child of a big family.

My Dad was a music major and my Mom was in the marching band so my love of music and entertainment came naturally. My mom’s parents, whom us kids called Nanni and Poppa, where in a traveling musical quartet with their church for years so I guess you could say it’s in my blood.

Growing up in a small town had its advantages, one of which was the ability to spend many days on the ranch with all the cows and learning how to catch snakes. I’d say the most impactful aspect of my background was learning skills most people don’t have these days unless they also grew up on a ranch. My love for nature and the outdoors is a huge part of who I am today and that is a direct result of upbringing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been a musician my whole life. So DJ’ing, although also within the music industry, was very different when I started over 5 years ago. I actually only started DJ’ing for a company to earn some extra money. All I DJ are events, weddings, B’Day parties, Cooperate, etc. My goal was to pay off debt, then to stop DJ’ing. After seeing the difference that I could make at these events, I was hooked! I’m an average DJ when it comes to mixing and blending songs, but when it comes to reading a crowd, being on the mic, using my energy by dancing behind my table or out with the crowd, there’s nobody better than me. I connect with people really well and love that aspect the most about what I do. I’ve learned that you don’t have to be the best mixer, or the best on social media, you just have to connect with people, make that moment with that event the greatest moment. People love to be in the moment, there’s just too many distractions. What I have learned also is that once you connect with them, they will relax, their walls come down, and they forget about their problems for a while and just love life in that moment. That excites me more than ANYTHING when I see that! I’ve had sound issues, played the wrong version of a song, been through the bride-zillas and mom-zillas, made very little money. That moment is gone, move on to the next moment, because if you focus on that mistake you made, then it affects your energy, which by default affects your decision making. Maybe I did everything right, and it’s not appreciated, doesn’t matter, move on to the next moment.
When I started my own company with DJ’ing over a year ago, although it was tough because I had to get the word out, it was the best thing I ever did. My wife has helped tremendously, doing all of my business cards, flyers, social media, art work for my posts, helped design and write my contracts, Jotform. She really helped set the foundation.

We believe that people love to choose us and continue to spread our business by word of mouth, because we are loving, transparent, and authentic.

And now, because I’m also a personal trainer, we are about to launch a “Bridal Party Boot Camp” for brides and grooms and also a package that includes their bridal party, to get them started on a life of health together, and also in great shape for their wedding.

We’ve come a long way, but are so excited about how far of the journey there is left to go!

Thank you to Eric Garcia and Shoutout Interviews, also thank you to Jessie Craig whom nominated me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start with the Bishop Arts district. There are so many choices of restaurants and shops. It really is one of the nicest and fun places to eat and hang out in Dallas. After that, a tour of Union Tower is the best way to view the entire DFW Metroplex.
After that I would head to the suburbs or Dallas, to North West Plano, and Frisco and the Colony.
Dinner a Whiskey Cake would be amazing, they get their food from local farms, and being a bar and grill it’s also a wonderful hang out spot.
Then of course browsing around Legacy West, with restaurants, shops, and the Star, it is its own mini city.
Also, if you’re ever indecisive about where to eat, Lazy Dog off of 289 in North West Plano is phenomenal!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This shoutout is for my Dad, not only has he encouraged me to pursue my love of music but he has also taught me everything I know about what it means to be a man. Growing up I watched my dad make sure each of us kids felt seen and heard. He would take us out each individually a few times a month just to catch up and check in.
