We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Being an educator there are some things that I was like you can’t do you want a professional Spectrum, but also being a member of the LGBTQ plus community you also have to be an activist as well. There was a time where I did have a couple of kids a part of that same community getting bullied as they were trying to discover and find themselves so I reached out to them as an open door and expressed to them that it’s OK to be themselves and not have to hide who they were. Obviously overtime allowed the other teachers side has me opening up to them rather than me being a helpful situation so at that time I got a lot of negative feedback as to what I said and interfere in any kids personal lives or I should influence them to Being an educator there are some things that I was like you can’t do you want a professional Spectrum, but also being a member of the LGBTQ plus community you also have to be an activist as well. Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a female impersonator is definitely not the easiest thing in the world because you have to separate that lifestyle from your personal lifestyle. There were a few instances where I felt my other persona was kind of overtaking my day-to-day lifestyle and I had to take a step back and reevaluate myself. The main thing I think that makes it hard for me that since I am a teacher and I am constantly busy with school activities and constantly busy with band practice and other things like that and have to juggle and make time around me managing for shows and anything that I may want to do so a lot of that does kind of make it difficult for me because there’s only so many hours in a day

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to say it in one of the main things I would do is take my best friend to my home bar that I perform at Called club reflection and I actually have the honor of being the show director there. It is located in downtown Fort Worth and we have drag shows every Tuesday Friday and Saturday and because she was an essential part of me being who I am and me being comfortable in my skin I definitely want her to see that her hard work paid off lol and to let her enjoy and embrace the person I am on stage

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve had allot of inspiration and motivation to be who I was and to push harder. Mainly my family as well as my closets friends for accepting me and keeping me grounded. Especially during school because I tend to overburden myself as far as professionally and personally
