We had the good fortune of connecting with Jon Eaton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jon, how do you think about risk?
Roll the dice baby!

I feel I am on the opposite of the spectrum as most people tend to become less risk adverse as they get older. I on the other hand look at life as very short; and therefore, if I don’t experience something now than I potentially never will.

In all honesty, taking risk is part of life and is encountered daily. This doesn’t mean you need to be Jim Carey in “Yes Man”; but please remember……No risk, No reward.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The idea and core concept of Scripx was not necessarily novel in nature, but potentially novel within the retail pharmacy space……which is the delivery of everyday prescriptions. My main objective and idea was to follow the overall trends in the retail space of e-commerce and gig-economy. By ultimately making it easier for patients to access medications, we could then work to drive down the overall cost and hence provide a more reliable and affordable source of prescriptions.

Due in large part to COVID in early 2020, there has been a huge rise within the virtual and telemedicine space; hence rendering delivery and digital services a “must have” for any competing pharmacy. Having the delivery component covered, we are now focused on increasing the overall health and wellness of our patients by advancements in technology (think AI, Blockchain, etc.), driving partnerships with doctors, and working with all key stakeholders both up and down stream of the pharmacy.

As our industry continues to grow at an extremely fast pace, we look forward to the challenges and rewards that will come along our journey. By exploiting local partnerships, employing talented individuals, and most importantly listening to our patients; we hope to create healthier futures for everyone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I moved to Dallas-Fort Worth in 2011 from Indianapolis, IN. Since the move, I can officially say that my roots are planted here in the metroplex with not looking back. For any family or friends that come into town, my routine typically consist of the following:

Food:
Terilli’s on Greenville to see my guys Joey and Vince for Martini and Jalapeno soup tasting.
The Charles – Chas’s group always entertains especially with the new speak easy

Events:
Most people enjoy visiting Jerry world during football season. We can do that, although Im still a Colt’s fan
My new found love is spending a weekend in downtown Fort Worth. I love The Sinclair and enjoy the Stockyards

Hang Out / Bars
Typically we will visit lower Greenville to catch a rooftop
Still visit Bryan Street Tavern to play darts almost weekly

In reality, there are so many places to visit and see that its very hard to incorporate them all into one trip. These are a few staples though.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Dad – Lyman Eaton III, RPh.

My father was a serial entrepreneur that taught me the basics of discipline, hard work, ingenuity, as well as love. Without my father’s accomplishments and failures I wouldn’t have been afforded the privilege and courage to take some of the risks and gambles that I have in life.

When times were tough, he was there.
When times were good, he was there.

Im lucky to have him even though it’s a love-hate relationship at times.
