Meet Johnny Duong | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnny Duong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Johnny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process of starting my own business was that I wanted something more than just a 9-5 grind. I always wanted to start up some sort of small business since college but never knew exactly what I wanted to do. I got into photography about a year ago and immediately fell in love with it. My passion grew as I began learning more about photography. Jduongvisuals started in 2023 as I wanted to take my photography game to the next level. I’m very fortunate to have my business brand grow as fast as it did.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a Portrait/Fashion photographer based out of Dallas, TX. Jduongvisuals is my photography business/brand established in 2023. My photography focuses a lot on portraits and fashion. I fell in love with taking portraits when I picked up my first camera. The idea of capturing people and telling a story intrigued me. I love the aspect of being able to create freely and capture unexpected moments and bring them to life. Over the past year since I started my photography business it was a GRIND to say the least. I’m very blessed to get to where I am today. I believe the most important factor is having that disciplined in whatever field/businesses you’re in. Wake up early, work late, do what you have to do and stay consistent. Success doesn’t come overnight. It’s what you do day in and day out.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love strolling around town and hitting different coffee spots. I’ll take them to my fav coffee shops such as Summer Moon Coffee or Merit Coffee. Hit up some of my fav local spots in town such as Victory Park, Downtown Fort Worth, Legacy West area.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is dedicated to my wifey Anh for always supporting & pushing me to be great. Also, I would like to thank all my clients/models that have work with me for the past year. I wouldn’t be the photographer I am today without them.
