Today we’re excited to be connecting with Joel Selaah. again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Joel, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Peace & Love good people! My name is Joel Selaah. formerly known as “Joedi Summerville”. I am a Singer, Songwriter, Producer, Host, and Fashionista. I have unique style that matches who I am and with the power of God almighty through the gifts he’s given me, I can create the art you hear and see.

I currently have projects out from my time as “Joedi Summerville”, Some songs you have heard. I also have others from my stint as “Avèk La’Mou”.

Since our last interview, I began a showcase called “Everything With Love Show” that highlighted local artists in my area and gave them a chance to highlight their talents. I also had a stint Co Hosting “The Underground Railroad” which is the Hip Hop Radio at Florida State every Saturday from 5-8pm.

Since our last interview I finally started taking fashion seriously and started a fashion blog on Instagram named luxuriouslookss_ in which I showcase outfits and inspiration that I put together.

Life has been a great journey since we last spake and I found my way back into the arms of my Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and began my new Christian Life. This prompted the name change to Joel Selaah. Joel is my actual first name and Selaah (Selah) is my favorite word from my favorite scripture in Psalm 47:4.

I have new music that I am working on along with the many other things that I do and I’m excited for you all to meet Joel Selaah next he’s here to stay!

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Life has been a journey since we last spoke. I had another name change “Avèk La’Mou” and I released music under that moniker for about 2 years. I worked with Kiezin, Backpack Beatz and recently began working with producer Dar’rell Banks from Virginia to help cultivate the sound I wanted. I was a radio co-host for about 1 year and a half, I hosted my own shows under my show’s name “Everything With Love Show” and I started my fashion blog on instagram named “luxuriouslookss_”. There were many ups and downs and changes but what I’m most proud of is, I had some steps in that journey however that led me back to Jesus. I have a big testimony and a story to tell about how good God has been. I’m so grateful to him and I’m ready to share my story. So keep your ears and eyes open on the art. God is working in my life!

A perfect day for me what be sunny and about 80 degrees outside. I wake up to my wife (I’m still single but follow the scenario ok?) next to me. I pray and wash up. There’s French toast with powdered sugar and turkey bacon on the table.

I get in my whip and cruise with the top down to my favorite oldies. A song hits me and I write it at my next stop.

I go to my favorite Jamaican Spot for curry goat rice and peas, eat and have an impromptu photo shoot afterwards. I then go to the studio to record the song I wrote and after two hours, the song is complete. The photos we took become the cover art. I make it home and the wife and I get dressed.

We get in the car and head to a jazz lounge where D’Angelo & Robert Glasper are on the bill.

They call me on stage because they recognize me and I get to perform with two of my favorite artists.

The concert ends and my wife and I hit a late night burger joint to talk about our day and we head home and go to sleep. PERFECT!
