We had the good fortune of connecting with Joel Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After years of going job to job dead end after dead end I so happened to come in contact with an old friend from back in the day. He owned his own tech business. Basically, took me under his wing and the rest was history. From that point forward everything has really taken off with my own business. He gave me a whole different outlook as far as going into business for myself. Shoutout to Cognitomedia.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is 8512solutions ltd. We specialize in smart-home integration services. We can turn your “dumb home” into a smart one! From smart security systems to theater room and smart lighting packages, we can bring your home or business into 2022 and beyond. What sets us apart I would say is our unique ability to connect with potential clients young and old. From beginning to end. The whole process. We ask many questions before, during and after the job is done to ensure our customer is satisfied we also educate and demonstrate we make sure the customer knows How something operates.. why something operates the way that it does and just try to go that extra mile for them. Plenty of Lessons learned and still learning til this day. Most important thing is to stay consistent not every day or every job is the same. You have to stay prepared when it comes to this industry.. consistency.. patience.. communication.. You have to “Outwork the work”.


If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We probably would freestyle the whole week lol. Nothing set in stone would just get out and go with no particular schedule. There are a lot of places to visit in the DFW area. We would definitely have to check out a Dallas Mavericks game or a Cowboys game for sure if they are playing. Texas Live out in Arlington is another great place to visit if we were looking for a bar or something.
