We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Reed and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what is the most important factor behind your success?
My success as an Independent Wine Consultant is owed to a couple different factors. First, is personality, it definitely starts there for me. I’m very energetic & positive and love meeting new people- this is contagious and customers/potential customers gravitate towards me for that. Second, is outstanding customer service. I make sure to share my sales, giveaways, booking specials, holiday wines, and promotions with my customers every month. I’m also very observant of what my customers enjoy and their wine drinking habits, if a wine is almost sold out or wine racks are probably looking empty, I make sure to get everyone stocked up with their favorites, as well as introduce them to a new varietal or two as well.


Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sure! The winery, WineShop At Home, is based out of Napa Valley, CA and ships artisan wines direct from the winery to your doorstep. I honestly hit the jackpot when I partnered with them and became an Independent Wine Consultant. Our French winemaker has created 100’s of high quality, award winning wines at an affordable cost. Our wines are made following the European standards and have no added sugars, no artificial colors/flavors, or other fillers – Instead they are made with quality, grape juice, water and yeasts…how it should be! As a Wine Consultant, I offer in home and virtual wine tastings, corporate events, fundraising opportunities, wine cocktail classes and themed tastings, an amazing wine club, and the opportunity to join my incredible team!

Getting to where I am today (Team Leader) with the company hasn’t been easy. It is however, fun, challenging, rewarding, and it keeps me hustling for more. The biggest and most important lesson for me is, if you don’t ask, the answer will always be no!

Sooooo, having said that, would you like to host a wine tasting or do you perhaps need to stock your wine rack? 😉


Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Dallas and the surrounding areas have so much to offer! I’m very “outdoorsy” and love a good patio scene with music, good food, and of course wine. I love going to the Dallas Arboretum, I’m a huge fan of wine and food pairings (big shocker), and honestly, my all time favorite place is in my backyard oasis or on our boat! I’m all for trying things outside my norm as well, I’d love to take a pole dancing class, learn to cook more, and join a kickball or softball team.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I gotta give a huge shout out to my wine family, my customers/supporters, and my husband! My wine family is absolutely amazing, they keep me motivated and on track, they encourage me and cheer me on, and they have literally become like family to me, I wouldn’t be half as successful without them. My wine customers are by far the reason I continue to love what I do, which leads me to grow and promote within the company. My customers put their trust in me, come to me with wine questions, and support me in so many ways, beyond just sales. Just like with my wine family, many of my customers have become great friends as well and I am so thankful for them all! Last, but definitely not least, my hubby, Donovan deserves a big shout out. This man puts up with my crazy, wine loving, super social and extroverted self, and does it with a smile. I love him more everyday because of his ability to advocate for me, lift me up when I fall, and say just the right thing when I need to hear it.
